And it begins, no name yet

We all have to start somewhere and today I went to TSC and ordered a 4x8NF. 3 week delivery time so I should be done with my plans by then. I also ordered some pneumatic shears & grinder since HD was having a sale today.

Next up: Trailer hitch for the Magnum and more planning.

Great !

It's a blast building but three weeks of planning will be invaluable. Getting the build sequence right saves so much time.

The folk here have tremendous ideas and a wealth of knowledge. I've learned a great deal by just asking

Keep us posted!

Picked up the blank trailer from TSC today. Not much of a reason to take a photo yet.

Any progress to report on the planning stage? Size, style, type of camping you plan on doing?

Inquiring minds want to know. 8)

I have had little progress on plans and prepping since I ordered the trailer (charity work & prepping a house for rental being the reasons). And now my prep time is extended again with my garage full of the other house's contents. Despite all these setbacks things will get rolling next week assuming Ocktoberfest doesn't hinder me too much.

I am planning on using this first build to test some ideas and figure out my build techniques. This one will be a traditional "Kit Kamper"-like exterior. It will be a 4x8 for simplicity sake. The plan is to use what I learn from this one to then build a keeper next fall.

My wife and I like visiting state parks, festivals, and family/friends out-of-state. We have a trip to the Tampa area planned for MLB spring training and that will be our first cross country run.

Lesson of the week: Northern Tools (NT) is now selling Carry-On trailers. I didn't check to see if they would special order and I've never seen a "no floor" at NT before. However, when I was in town last week (30 miles), NT had a 5x8NF for $399. The 4x8NF that I ordered from TSC (1 mile from home) was also $399. I had already agreed to buy it, so I didn't try and haggle.
