Door Dilema

Postby Kaz » Thu Oct 30, 2014 7:30 pm

So I've got my baltic birch plywood for my side's and cabinets. Hopefully this weekend I'll get to work splicing the 5'x5' side pieces together and get ready to cut the profiles. I plan on using manufactured doors. I think they are 26"x34", problem is that they are pricey and don't actually need them for a while but once the side's are up I need access :worship: to the inside. Is there anyone that has a template or cutout dimensions?

Kaz, the rough-in opening I was given was 26 1/4" X 32 1/4" with 3 5/6" radius corners for the 26 x 32 doors. That's what I used, but I, like you, don't have the doors yet. I'm thinking it should be close enough, but I did cut the line a bit sloppy (1/8" big), just to be sure. Are you sure it is 26 x 34 or is it 26 x 32? The other size I know is 26 x 36

actually looking at the 26"x36". I believe the rough cut out is 26 1/4" x 36 1/4". I don"t know the radius fro the corners.

By the way THANK YOU to you and everyone on this forum. The amount of resources and help is astounding ! There really are good people from all corners of the globe! :applause:  :wine: :P :shake hands:

If it is just access that you need, and you know the opening dimensions required but not the radius.
Couldn't you cut most of the way up and not all the way over and angle cut the corners for now. Then cut in your top radius' when you do purchase your door??
But. I am sure Grant Whipp will be able to help you out.
