I've used that method (1/8" spline) for stretching 3/4" AC plywood for the structural part of sandwiched walls. It works great as long as the joint is covered by the exterior/interior plywood. And it's quick. But without the sandwiched plywood acting as a gusset, it's a week joint.

In this photo, you can see that I did the spline joint just ahead of the doors for this 10' long skeleton. 1/4" subfloor plywood covers both sides of the joint.



I'd think twice about using spline plywood joinery for non-sandwiched walls.

Sorry for the hijack jjshoe! Please let us know how the quality is of your big sheets when you lay your hands on it. I have been on Menards website several times since you posted the link and think I found my solution.

I haven't seen the 5'x10' plywood yet, and there's a good chance I never will.

Northern tool used YRC shipping for my trailer. Tracking showed that it arrived on Friday and I never got a phone call, at 3:00pm today, no phone call. Call Northern Tool, they give me a number for YRC, call YRC, they say if you're on a deadline call Northern Tool and tell them we lost it, because we don't really have any record of your shipment. Call Northern Tool they say we need to give them two days to dock check before we refund, I asked for a supervisor, after being on hold a long time the original rep comes back on and says the supervisor authorized the refund.

Looking at just doing a cargo trailer conversion at this time.

I used a NT 5x8 trailer and it was shipped via Yellow Freight. I ended up taking my little pickup down to their truck yard to get it since they only came to my area once every two weeks or something. It took a while for them to give me a confirmation call. Your freight carrier might take some time processing. I guess if you already requested a refund there isn't much else to do, but mine took a while to ship and receive (in fact I got the certificate of origin and then plates and licensing/title processing before I even had my pallet o' trailer bits in possession).
