Well, if it doesn't leak, that's half the battle won! Many people build exquisite teardrops only to find a leak in the first rainstorm. I sometimes have nightmares about rainstorms. You've already experienced your first storm and came through it just fine! That's a BIG plus!

Took a few hours today to install the windows. I really took my time on that, cause I didn't want it to leak. They look awesome, and really make it "look" like a camper. Just have to put in the front window (the vintage window off of a scotty or airstream) its a 36" wide x 15" tall side to side slider. There is gonna be plenty of ventilation.

Also thanks for the kind words, I was starting to think I was the only one that liked it!

Oh yea total build time so far is 17 hours.

Great progress on your build. It looks great, and if it meets your needs, then that is exactly what it was designed for.

I definitely wanted plenty of windows. I just have to find a part for the vintage window. There are two plastic peices on the bottom of the actual window pane, that act like springs to keep the window in its groove (it slides open). It slides side to side, but if you push down on it, the window slides out of the groove, and then can come out for cleaning. They are broken so the window pane will not stay in the sliding groove. Any ideas on where to get parts.

Started working on the interior today, didn't have much time so I worked on the structual supports, and boxed in the top for a future fantastic fan. The front interior wall is in, but needs to be trimmed out around the window.

My next step is wiring for a couple of 12volt items, and then I can finish the interior.

Finally made it by an auto parts store today, and bought a big tire innertube. Got it all cut up, and made my piano hinge gasket.

I also went to the box store and returned everything I didn't use, and bought some things I didn't get enough of in the past. Had to get more 90 degree aluminum to make drip rails above the windows. Also while I was there I needed to pick up some a new shovel. I walked through the plant section and notice hanging plant hooks, that mount to an eve, or post, and swing back and forth. Bought two of these to mount on the exterior of the camper to hang my Dietz lanterns from.

Tomorrow it heads to storage for a few days to get it out of the way, and so that I can take care of a few things in the yard, (meaning it is housing inspection time Monday, and it needs to be out of site ).

P.S. It has rained on and off for the past two days, and still no leaks!

I noticed that you had your first camping trip this past June and the kids seem very happy. Love the fish pillows and the clever way you built extra sleeping areas into that little trailer. I see that you have painted the exterior and added bar covers on the lights......Looks good pulled behind your Jeep!
