Whetzeldorf no. 4

I guess I never started a journal on this build so I better get caught up. This one will be similar to no.3 with a few dimensions tweaked and some minor changes. Since each donor pop up is different I use what they supply as much as possible. Here is the frame after shortening, adding the drop floor framing, moving the axle, and as you can see it had front stabilizers, which were in the way of the step on the curb side, so I removed them. Do not believe there is much need for them.

And here the floor has been installed along With the wheel wells. They require some modification but not much.

The cabinets changed slightly, as the donor had plastic "totes" as drawers behind a common door. I used the same paneling as the walls for door panels. You can see the power converter on the far left, new mini fridge it the center, and the drawers right of it. The drawers hang on aluminum angle as slide brackets. I added a wood brace on the back of each drawer, as they tended to tip as you pulled them out ( I guess Starcraft didn't care if you dumped the contents as you pulled the drawer out).

The opening on the right serves 2 purposes...an area to stow the new, 2 burner propane stove during travel, as it is removed and slid onto a bracket on the outside of the camper for use when parked. And connected to the gas line via a quick connect and hose that stows thru the wall.
And has a DVD player mounted for the flat panel tv, which will attach to the mount seen above the counter. Shoes can be stored next to the stove.

3 outlets for appliances are added around the counter, all connected to a GFI circuit from the converter, supplied by the pop up. The donor also supplied a sink, which I have omitted in the past, but installed here, and have yet to decide if I will install the pressure hose connection on the side. I may just wait until I
have a buyer and then decide on water needs. I have the faucet and connections on the shelf.

The mattress is a 5" foam from a surplus supplier, covered from the factory.
Windows are 15x24" sliders, surplus, as is the door. It is a factory Atwood product, complete with screen door and dead bolt. I dis-assemble it and cut it and the screen door down to the height I need. Externally accessible storage under the bed, as well as an hinged access panel under the bed inside.

Not shown yet is the cubby storage area I added above the windows on the sides.

Here's is the mattress in no.3, same as this one.
98957
And this is what the door will look like...98955
The walls are 3/4" , 13 ply birch, slotted, splined, and have the 1/8" pre-finished wall board laminated vertically for added strength, and to get the 62x 99" size needed.
