Another Build (Update 10/03/2011 Finally finished!)

I'm a bit bored. I haven't been building for a while. I have a frame for a 5 by 8 made for a project that the client bailed on. So..I'll be building a 5 by version of the trailer that I designed for peg.

The details are up in the air for now. I'll be selling it when done. If I get a buyer soon, I'll complete it per their specs. Otherwise, I'll just putter along as I can.
I got the floor done today, and will start the walls later this week.

I'm thinking about using a manufactured door for this project. I was looking at one on line, but lost the link.
Anyone got a link to a supplier?
I'm thinking of one that has an operable window, frame and lock.

Progress;
Nothing new to report. The floor is done. I need a break in the social/camping schedule, to get back in the shop.
I'm working out a new wall joinery/assembly method. More as I get it worked out.

Check in with caseydog, he has a manufactured door although sleasebay is always there too. Enjoy the new build puttering is the only way to go!

Well, some progress on the build.
I got side panel sections cut out, ready to assemble into panels.
I have the floor ready to go.
I've changed my mind about a manufactured door. It seems kind of silly to build an interesting side wall, only to cut most of the interesting part out for a door.
I'll be using my traditional method for the door (doors?)

I finally downloaded some pics from the shop.
For most viewers, nothing new so far. Well, anyway...
Floor, 5-by-8, 3/4 foam, 1/4 ply bottom, 2-1/4 ply layers on top...


Blocking for bolts...


High tech clamping system! All plywood is glued with PL adhesive, and stapled to the frame, then "clamped"...


Finished floor. I'll trim the ends to match the profile later..


Here is the back of the wall ply.


Street side, ready for glue-up..


Here are both sides, and the floor. I cleaned up a bit since the first shot!..


Street-side again, glued up and 'glassed...


To glue the side sections together, I worked epoxy into the seams, covered in waxed paper, then "clamped" with weight..A poor-mans vacuum table!


Gluing the seams first, then finishing doesn't seem to have an effect on finish color. The wood is Oak and Cherry...


I have both sides ready to cut to profile. I'll give them a week to cure before I do that.

Next..Wall framing!

I had to use some vacation time, so I spent a couple of days on the walls;

I reinforced the back of the wall panel parts;


Prepared to cut the wall panels to my pattern;


Wall panel, ready to go;


Wall framing roughed out;


I used biscuits for the joints;

I built the second frame on top of the first, separating the two with waxed paper.

Galley layout..for now;


I glued up the frame/wall. This is the street side;


Curb side, all glued up;


I'll cut the door/doors (can't decide) out after the whole assembly is laminated..

Coop worked very hard this weekend!
