Had to slow down a little, life getting in the way of building. I did finish getting the roof plywood epoxied down a couple of days ago, and this morning I cut out the hole for the Fantastic vent. I don't like cutting holes in roofs, it is akin to cutting holes in the bottom of a boat. So with great trepidation I made the hole, knowing at some point in the distant future it will be a place of potential water intrusion. Next step was to completely seal the spars and plywood around the vent hole, so when, not if it ever leaks, there will be no water absorbed into wood. After this step I am going to put the vent on, mark the mounting holes around the vent, drill out the holes in the plywood with an over-sized drill bit and fill the holes with thickened epoxy. That way when mounting the fan, the screws will be in the epoxy not wood that can absorb moisture.

Nice Work Steve!!! :applause: I like the Idea of the epoxy in the screw holes. :applause:

Wished I'd have thunk that far in advance. :(

Is that 1/4" ply on the top? How many sheets did you use on the top?

Mk
