How did the trim I gave you work out?

I got $300 on Craigslist for them! LOL Just kidding! I really appreciate it! It worked out great, I had some black insert trim that matched perfect and the trim bent well given the hard radius on the top. I have been knocking it as the "git er done drop" but I am actually very pleased with the result for a temporary solution!

Here's a pic of the tight radius on top, the aluminum and trim took it great! I also finished mounting and trimming the AC unit, it's not going anywhere now!

I painted the wheels silver and put on an Oak "Bumper". it really helped the looks of it alot! Put a curtain in also. I cut and stained the shelf and I'll start the clear coating tomorrow.

Thanks for checking in Mark, you're my only liker haha I know it's not the LT but it's been a scrambled year, I am starting to really love this one though because it gets me camping again and I missed a whole year which ain't right! I am looking forward to the Prowler build but until then... I got the interior pretty much finished too! I think it looks quite cozy now!

I stumbled on a recycling place with a weigh station so on a whim I hooked up the Deuce and had it weighed. I drove up so the back tires of my truck were off the scale and when I cam in the lady handed me a printout of 400lbs. I told her I wanted to unhook it to get the total correct weight and she was cool so I did it and it came out to 520lbs. not bad at all!

Does that mean you have a tongue weight of 520-400=120 lbs? Then you've got 23% of the total weight there! A far cry from my trailer, which I struggled with, to achieve the magic 10% tongue weight for towing:

Just think, you could still hang another bumper on the back, and carry 400 more lbs of gear over your wheels, and still not go under the 10% tongue weight. Just kidding, Thomas, I liked your trailer as it is...no changes needed.

Yeah, I thought that was interesting too about the tongue weight but I can pick it up no problem although it is heavy, it's not 120lbs! I liked the wheels at the back is what makes it heavier in the front but by no mean is it heavy since every thing about it is light! I think I'll just weigh the tongue at home and see but it feels like an 80lb bag of concrete to me.

Hi Thomas/2bits,

I came across this link and thought you might get a kick out of it
since it relates to a topic in one of your past threads - I just put it
here as this is the first thread of your's I came across:

Prefabed with SIPS to boot.

Cheers,
