Heikki, Mary K, John and Martha, thanks so much for the encouragement. I really appreciate you all.

I woke up this morning with lots of sandy stuff on the stained hatch so I think I will hang it then varnish it. Better to have runs than dirt. :?

Boy does it look big. For reference, the lighter bench top is a normal inside house door. :?

Oh yeah and I put the wire race way in. Hubble non-metalic stuff. It sticks to the surface so no screws or real work. Can get 3 wires in there and drill holes to come out. ;)

The clown is helping me dry fit the hatch. It is amazingly light weight. I can hold my side with one hand. :woohoo:

It looks heavy to me. Mike has to wear a back brace to hold it up.
But it does look like it fits nicely.

Miriam,

Great looking hatch and very, very nice fit!! When I get around to building another one, maybe you can come over and build my hatch for me?? :D

You might have to get some ear plugs for that to happen.

Thank you all very much. I am very proud of the hatch. It and the rest of the tear are drying from the varnish. The humidity took a dive so I tried to take advantage.

Mike helped a great deal on the hatch. It was nice to have another person putting clamps on the other side. It is really too bulky to move alone now.

I also got the TV shelf in and it works. :R

 Well I have done it again---gotten bogged down in the logistics. My hatch is drying on the table, but I need the table to put the cabinet face's together, but I need the varnish on the hatch to dry so I can hang it, but I have to varnish the roof to put the hinge on, but it has dust on it and I can't get it off or it will fall on the varnished hatch. :? Backin up. Oh yeah and I smoked my table saw.

Here is the dry fit of the inside facings. I wanted the spalted Maple inside but I was having sever sinus reactions to it so it will only be on the outside.

I am going to try to put these together with biscuits. :worship: If that doesn't work their getting glued and nailed.
