We've been gone to my BIL's wedding so I didn't get much done yesterday or today. When we returned I found the notice on the door about our gas being shut-off for a leak. I apparently cut the service to the house yesterday morning doing fence repairs. I don't know if that was before or after I stepped in the fire ant nest and got my feet bitten up.

This evening I cut the notches in the ends of the center ribs. Then I used them to help line everything up to drill, screw and glue.

Image

Image

Aw nuts. I had the whole thing clamped together and already drilled when I realized I swapped the left and right side ribs. I didn't want to re-drill, so I will adjust the notches at the bottom ends.

Hatch profile.

My husband and I are lovin' watching your build come together. It's so nice to see that others make mistakes along the way and just deal with them as they come. Can't wait to see the finished product!

We haven't started beyond the trailer yet. Have to get the deck on and then registered. Then we'll probably do a journal post like yours. It really is fun to watch!

Piece of cake really. Just a lot of odd corners to deal with.

Shouldn't take more than an extra pint or two of Titebond. Right?

Did a little more hatch work tonight.

I marked and drilled all of the ribs at once.

Image

Ribs and mini-spars.

Image

It's coming along. I might actually finish this thing...

A pile of doors. Two coats of CPES on the doors, and a coat on the hatch frame. Next up, skin the hatch and final waterproofing. Gotta order more CPES first.

BUILDER HINT: get the two gallon CPES kit on the first order.

AACK, attacked by a hole saw!

Image

...add half a bass boat...

Image

One last look. The doors are soon to go on. The roof has two coats of CPES. Final roof skin decision comes today, followed shortly by ordering.

It's for the shore power outlet. I'm not going to put in water, at least not right now.

Speaking of power, I laid out where the 120 and 12 volt systems will be located. I punched even more holes in the galley bulkhead.

A gigantic hole for a bulkhead coaxial connector for ham radio use.
