Thanks! So when are you gonna start your vardo?

I'm kinda torn lol. I do like this one, but also enjoy the building of them lol. I was debateing if I do put it up for sale buying a 5x10 cargo trailer and making it look like a mini vardo for useing for easy towing, and maybe a full sized like paleo's "mock vardo"...or a high lo kinda standy that would be easy to tow...lots of ideas...not as much money lol!

Looks great Deryk! Just wait until someone wants to buy it and have a number in your head to make a good profit on it and wait til someone says Ok, I'll take it". Thats when you know its time for the next one .

Cliff

Here's one I made a model of the other day.

In the front, the bed converts into a couch. And with the bed down, there is still enough room to walk all around. Oh well, that's as far as I got!

Thanks Cliff! Yeah it is one of those things if it happens it happens...

Mike, a walkaround bed makes a wide trailer! With my bed going longways I have about 8 inches more or less between the full sized mattress and the wall, with a 75" exterior width, 71.5" ish inside width. So what kinda model you working on? Ive been oggling too many different ones lol They all have their pluses and minuses depending on what your doing for that trip.

The idea of the walk around couch is for the dogs.

They don't get on the bed at home, and they love watching out the front door. So this was a way to let them get to the front bay window without getting up on the bed.

Yea, it is wider. It would have to be built on my 5x10 trailer. That's not going to happen any time soon.

But Mike, it is a nice shape, the curve of the windows will make it a little more areo dynamic then my flat wall. Can always get another trailer lol.

Im hopeing the stove comes today or tomorrow, just so its here. I decided to go with a fitting to pass through the roof from a boat store because its a more solid connection then what Ive seen at HD. That should be in tomorrow.... gonna have to clean the stove up, paint it... probably will be in next week... hopefully camp in it in 2 weeks to try it out!

Well the pot belly stove was a bust, poorly packed and was damaged, 3 of the 4 legs missing as well as the metal disk that goes on top... granted I have the stuff to install a 3" flue lol... I might end up goin with the propane heater from nu-way... sigh always something lol.

Well I got my ac unit in this weekend...cleaned up the galley box...still want to paint it and add stuff, but not today! Image

Deryk,

The pics of the inside of your vardo sure look warm and comfy. I love the colors too!

Take care,

Thanks Tom! With the bed folded back like a couch I have about 38" width to sleep on, more then enough when Im alone. I have 4.5' space between me and the door. With the bed frame fully extended, Ive got about 3' to the door, so have room for a heater of some sort to not be too close. Its also nice to have room under the bed for the blankets and a bag of clothes to be out of the way.

I just had to contact ebay that the seller of the stove stopped responding to my emails. They packed the stove real poorly and it got damaged and was missing pieces. 3 times I emailed the seller with 10 photo's of the broken pieces and the condition of the box and asked if they insured it and they didnt respond so Im guessin they didnt. Its too bad, I was really looking forward to the little pot belly stove for the ambiance factor. I think I might just settle for a propane buddy heater and just keep a window open wide and use my co2 sensor I spent $65 dollars on a fancy marine fitting to pass the stove pipe through the roof but maybe I will hold onto it for when I build a bigger vardo and have more room for it.

Sorry to hear about your eBay mishap. Make sure you open a dispute with eBay/PayPal as you're covered up to $2000US. No need for you to take that kind of treatment when you're insured. I've been scammed by people on eBay before, your seller may have been suspended due to similar escapades with others.
