Pinched wire looked just like the trailer wiring kit in one of my new truck's
That took a couple brake controllers.

I got lucky, just grabbed the outer sheath, all wires inside must be intact because all the trailer lights still work.
I'd be dark if I found it on a new truck, but.

rain holding off so far, I hope.
Our temps still going up and down here. 46* right now at 2:30 pm, nice and sunny out. brisk wind.

Rain started at 7 am, its now 8.24 am and we've had 5mm (20 points/0.2 imches)
So not a downpour, just a continuous gentle rain that is forecast to go on all day.
It took about 24 hours for this rain system to travel 400 odd kilometres. It'll be over us for quite a while.
At least it has knocked down the summer heat.
I've disappeared under the rain radar.

Enjoy it while you can. 2 years of good rain. We will probably cop another 10 year drought from next summer

I remember reading about your drought and the wildfires that came with it.
It's so dry around here where we live, we watch very close if we see any smoke close.
They do controlled burns. Have a large one going on right now.
Hard to believe they are burning one right now with a 13 mile an hour wind, some gusts to 20mph.
Does the rain stop you from working on the TD completely?

Got a coat of the mix on the exterior walls today under my mother's carport.
Adds a level of challenge when you have to take all the gear somewhere else to do a job.

Yes, and then on the way "What did I forget"?
Working on our teardrop was very challenging, we had it in 2 different shops while building it. Our carport leaked to bad when it rained. One shop leaked and was too cold. Other shop was 110* degrees in it at times during the summer.
Back of my SUV looked like a garage, storage barn and a tool truck, trying to remember everything needed from one place to another...

One supposes one opens oneself to accusations of bias, but one does feel that one's first attempt at homemade doors came out alright.
One needs to fabricate some little striker plates for the inside, and perhaps one might have waited until later to install one's doors, but one does feel the better for having installed one's doors now. One needs the occasional visible evidence of one's progress to maintain one's enthusiasm and one's momentum.

MiO, those doors are quite impressive

fit appears to be spot on

been fun following along

your internal trim/door stop is well dunn

justa point some others have shared w/ me as i strolled a few TD events concerning door stop trim

when one opens the door and turns backwards to sit n remove shoes the door stop trim becomes a PITA so to speak

it tends to cut into the buttox and the sitter wriggles seeking a bit of comfort

when one is crawling into the TD on hands n knees the lip grinds into the shin bone which can be quite painful

one camper simply added a block of wood

others kept a small piece of carpet to place over the threshold

awareness of the potential issue is where i was headed

w/ your fit n finish abiities i figured you might just be able to head it off

Thanks mate.
The photos might give a bit of a false impression. The first 4 inches of sidewall on this build is floor framing and floor.
Wasteful I know, but I can't help building for nuclear Armageddon proof.
I have been following the usual advice and aiming for the door stop edge to be only halfway up the side of the mattress, which has worked quite fine on my first build.
The mattress on this build is at least a couple of inches higher than the door stop edge. I reckon the peanut butter jar in the corner is about mattress height.
But I think the mattress for this one is a bit softer than my first mattress. I'm hoping it won't sag too much under my lard ass.
I nearly slung it in today to test it out.....

Everything about them looks right.
