Yes, Thomas. I've got to take care of my little bride(of 37 yrs.).

For my birthday(which is today), she bought me a 10" band saw, with extra blades. I've been wanting one for years, but am to Conservative(tight) to buy one.
NOW, some of my other projects will begin.

I use to wonder why there was a run on plywood every time a hurricane was coming. Don't people keep their plywood for next time?

Now I know where that plywood goes.

Some people do, some don't.

I usually keep about 12 sheets on-hand, just in-case a storm pops-up.
After a storm passes, I may use a couple of sheets for projects around the house and replace my stash as necessary.
I did buy two new, better quality 4X8, 1/2" sheets for the sidewalls.

I started on the galley last weekend. I picked up a section of counter top at Lowe's and cut the width to size. It is 24" deep, but I won't be using all this surface for counter top. I'll need room for other appliances and cabinets.

The cut-out in the center will house the Fridge, which will be set back a bit.
Image

I also started on the door framing. I used 1/8" X 2" flat bar, welded and contoured the corners.

Image

Below is a test fit. Door latch and hinge mounts welded on.

Image

Still not sure if I'm going to go with this door latch or the flush mount as in the bottom photo.

Image

I sent an inquiry to Eberhard to find out where I could buy these latches. The nice lady shipped me a pair; free of charge. I was surprised as the sell for well over $50 each. Thanks Lea.

If I end up using these, I'll have to widen the latch side of the door frame.

Image

Being it's a misty rainy day, I'll try to do a bit more in the shop.

 Oops, forgot. Pat asked me to teach her how to use the band saw for a bird house project. Looks like the Kevlar Glove will be a must.

Nice work

Postby shortgmanp » Tue Dec 08, 2009 4:19 pm

My dad and I are doing a build also. It takes alot of time to do it right. You seen like you are doing a stand up job. Nice looking work so far. I thought about a drop floor design, but decided on a storage box under the tear for fishing poles and misc. stuff. I can't wait to see how it turns out. Like the wheels too. Later Greg :applause:
I am a workaholic that loves a good challenge. It will also give my dad and me a good project to work on together. I plan on putting several miles on this teardrop, so I want to build it right.

Thanks, John.

Last weekend, I cut out the Cedar for her second chair and will try to assemble it this weekend.
The mini bike is fun to ride. Of course, I bought it for my grandson for when he comes to visit. I sneak a ride on it once in a while. Got to make sure it's running as it should.
:)

Hi Greg.

Yes, it does take time to do it right. I've been following your build and it's looking good.
I'm at a stopping point on my build at the moment. Too many other thing to take care of this time of year.
'Tis the season, you know.

Worked on the TD Saturday afternoon.
Installed a section of ceiling and rough fitted the Fantastic Fan. Also started running some of the wiring.

I scraped the original door idea and went with something different. I got a good deal on two door from ebay. The doors are a bit larger than the original opining, so I'll have to make a slight modification. No big deal at this point, 'cause I haven't yet installed the insulation board and inner walls.
I'm hoping the weather is good the two days after Christmas, so I can get a few more things done.
