What do you think of the new skin?

Three thumbs up... and a big ol' FTW! on the offset, old-sko0l, racing-stripe seam molding!

I've said it before... but here goes again: I'll be dadburned if I don't absolutely love the Cub profile... I have finally reached the conclusion that I am going to have to throw my drawings into the trash and start w/ a Cub... and modify that. Hee.

Your tear looks gorgeous; almost as nice a Thomas's! I'm kidding... They both look fantastic.

You'll be lucky, though, with all the hardware you have planned, to be any lighter than 1600 lbs... srsly. Brakes are a must on the tear axle.

The bug, though, with the mods you've done, will pull it no problemo. With 2100 cc's of Weber-fed torque and those four disc brakes you'll be runnin' down the road like a champ. The trailer brakes are necessary, though, because the tear is gonna weigh almost at much as the bug does!

Hey man I was a t a VW show this past weekend, wow we would of been a lot warmer with a tear! I saw some hitches for Bugs, what are you using for your hitch. You're pulling a heavy trailer and I don't think the ones that I saw would stand up to that weight.

They were this style.

On another note, a VW Bus came in pulling a VW Drag Bug on a tandem trailer. Wish I'd taken a pic!

In regards to the hitch, I designed a custom on to fit into where the bumper supports would have been on the VW. The hitches I have seen do not work with my setup because of the dual quietpacks and the merged header. So I have a beefed up design that mounts to the bumper bracket locations....and those locations are getting beefed up and kicked back to the main frame.

Have some friends at a machine shop fabricating and powderer coating it, so as soon as I get it back I will snap some pics and show you how it works

Sounds solid. I'm doing the same with mine. I will take it back to the torsion tubes and put a U-bbolt around that also. Looking great man. My wife and I went to a Drag/Dyno day south of us, we camped and it was cold as hell. Well not really cold but the wind was what made it cold. I laid in the tent and could feel the wind blowing on my face!! We took that tent back, too much screening and not enough flap! Wish I had my Camper goin'.

Real Nice Job !

I like the VW Bug tail-lights on the fenders, a
real nice touch.

Cheers,
