YOU CAN NEVER HAVE TOO MANY CLAMPS!!!
:?

Truer words have never been spoken. Friends and family don't even ask me what I want anymore. Every birthday, Christmas, or whatever occasion that warrants a gift of some kind, I know that someone is going to get me some clamps of one form or another. I did have to let folks know that I think I have enough miter clamps though - I think I could glue up about 2 dozen picture frames at one time right now...

Every one of them is appreciated and WILL be used. :)

Looking good, H-Balm! Can't wait for the next installment!

H-balm,

The madness has begun. That's a nice trailer and floor you have there. Before long, the walls will be up!

Take care,
Tom

Got a lot of work done today.

Framed two interior shelves.
Used some compound to seal up some gaps in the edges.

Since I have no pics ready... I'll throw this out there:

We decided to name our teardrop "My Trailerbed".

We took on the mindset that the perfect name would eventually find us. We just needed to be patient. Rather than force anything during the last 5 months, we just built without much thought to it.

Back in early Autumn, September perhaps, we realized that regardless of what we thought, our trailer was already named. Our two year old daughter had been referring to our project as, "My Trailerbed". Every time she would come into the garage she'd smile and say, "This is my trailerbed?" and "We need to make my trailerbed!".

Right there in front of our eyes was the name, "My Trailerbed".
Perfect.

I took on this project to embrace the process of building my teardrop from scratch.
What a satisfying waypoint on the journey.

Whoa, partner!

Are ya' trying to build this thing in a month? We're starving for some more pics. I hope you don't mind me robbing this off your photobucket site.

Thief!!!

Ok some more.... though somewhere I have a file with photos prior to this.

Anyhow, here we are in the galley.
The counter top is made from a heavily discounted box of Solid Bamboo Flooring. It was missing a few boards, so I got it for a song. The grooves went together with glue and sat in clamps. Counter top done.

Underneath will be three cabinets.
The left is for the ice chest, and sits on a tray mounted on drawer slides. The center will just have a door.
The right will contain sink plumbing.

The array of gasoline cans will allow me to make firebombs in case I am ever attacked by a horde of zombies.

The inner skin is up!

So, how did I get the plywood to go up in December in the cold New York Winter?

Voila!

Car jack tipped on a side.
Pressed onto a large scrap board strung between the doors.
On the jack, a 4x4 post pushing on an old plank.
Every 20 minutes go crank the jack a bit, then go watch tv/read a book. Slowly it will get up there along the way I would apply glue as it got closer to the spars.
