Thanks, I was really hoping to build a 5' wide but I couldn't find a second hand trailer in decent enough condition/price. I would have been able to use all 5'x5' sheets of Baltic Birch and will now also need some type of extension mirrors to see around the trailer. Our tow vehicle is a PT Cruiser, anyone have an idea where I could find suitable mirrors that won't fly off as we roll along the highway? I blatantly stole the multiple receiver idea from others' on the site, I figure that's why we're here; to share and learn from others and their experiences.

Dividers for front cupboards cut out, ready to be "matched" with the belt sander.

I took advantage of the Victoria Day long weekend here to get some work done on both ends of the trailer
Image

Picked up a pair of 100lbs drawer sliders for the cooler shelf. The ends feel really solid now, but it's still a little flexible in the middle.
Image

Once all the glue joints set I'll make and install the last four shelves. Utilizing the 1/4" plywood scraps made a good right angle jig for the sides, just screwed them to the floor.

Getting started on the 'woody trim'. It's much easier to clamp it together before the roof goes on!

The shelf for the tv/cupboard base is glued/screwed into position.

Here's what it looks like with the 32" tv mocked into place, will be using wireless headphones so as not to disturb other campers.
Have also ordered the sheets of 1/4" bending plywood for the roof, should be here by the end of the week.

I'm back at it after a few weeks off from constucting. Now cutting supports for the perimeter of the sides to give the roof some extra support. This is a very tedious job, I only have about 30 to go....

I had been planning to be camping by September 1st, I'd better pick up the pace :frightened:

That is really looking great. I think I'm going to have to buy a more heavy duty jigsaw as mine gets hot too easily. Are you happy with yours?

I'm really happy with the jigsaw, it's really powerful and has no trouble cutting through whatever I throw at it. I also have the matching hammer/drill which has an amazing amount of torque. I bought them both at Wmart, I would also recommend buying a pocket screw jig, what a great investment of $25, I'll be looking for things to use that on...

The pocket hole jig was the first tool i purchased for my build but HD only had one choice and it was not $25. Thanks for the info on the Saw! I think I'm going to have to break down and get another one.

Speaking of jigs, here's one I made for transferring the roof line curve to the inside of the 'Woody' trim and blocks for the roof. Not exactly high tech but works well.

Once the perimeter trim is attached, I can finally put on the roof.

Super job. It will be a shame putting a outer skin on all that nice woodwork.
