Welcome Rick

Admittedly I haven't checked in here much lately... too busy camping! Our tear is still a work in progress as far as cabinet doors, details etc, but I gotta say it's SO nice to have it camp-able... *almost* everything in there... all we have to do is pick a destination, hitch up & stop for food & drinks!

Camping prep used to be work, but NO MORE, my friend!

And regarding small tires... we recently towed from St Louis, over Wolf Creek Pass Colorado, to Moab Utah & back rolling on the stock Northern Tool tires (inflated to 80psi) & had no problems at all... *usually* about 60-ish, but my girl can be a lead-foot so sometimes up to 70+ a few.

Anywayz, enjoy your build & this place is a great community if you have any questions... Ask 1 & you'll get 10 different solutions!

Cheers!

Thanks Kent,

And WOW ! I just went through your entire journal. Great build. I can only hope mine turns out half as good. :worship:

I've just finished refurbishing my frame, and can now start the sawdust flying. :hammer: I would like it done this year but, it's done between fixing the gutters...and mowing the lawn...and...and...and... I'm sure everyone here knows what I'm sayin'.

Plus, I don't think I'll be doing any winter camping here in Central New York. :snowstorm: Although I do have a Zero Degree Sleeping Bag. Of course, most parks round here are not open in winter, and if they were...I'd prolly be the only one there !

And hang on to that Woman as long as ye can....my wife has NO interest in what I'm building or why. So, whatever camping I do will be a Solo Adventure on the bottom line.

But...that has advantages as well...this will be a minimalistic build. ONE set of flatwear, dishes, clothes, you get the picture. The only extravagance I'm thinking about is a built-in Swamp Cooler. :fan:

YEE-HAAWWWW... :P ,

Sawdust is in flight. :applause: I started on my floor tonight! It ain't much, but, it's a beginning. Got my trailer put back together except for the fenders, which I will hold off on anyway. Put the perimeter of the floor together and two cross beams so far.

I am taking pictures :snappy: , but, I still have not figgered out how to get them on here. Part of the problem is, I live kinda out in the sticks, so my internet is slow most days. It's gonna take me a half a day just to upload the pics I have so far. :disappointed: It
is what it is.

The better half just asked if I was going to stain this...I said yup, and she told me that our local news station did a test on stains. In their opinion...Behr was best. Any input on this would be appreciated. I really like the look of wood grain, but if I have to, I will paint it.

Ok, it's time for a  or two....or three. Gonna watch a little boob-tube and call it a night. :SH

TTFN :goodnight:

Is the problem with pic's getting them out of the camera and onto your computer; getting them out of your computer and into your Gallery here on the forum; or getting them from your gallery and into a post?

With a little more info, maybe someone here can help or refer you to help.

Would love to see the pic's. You know the old saw, "no pics, didn't happen".

My problem KC, is getting the pictures resized to a small enough format that the website accepts them. I have reset my camera to take the smallest pic it can, but it's still too big of a file. Last night I tried setting up a Photobucket account. and that website froze on me. I'm starting to wonder if the Teardrop Gods are telling me something.

Also, my puter is oldish, (5 or 6 years ) so that could be part of the problem.

I'll figure it out one of these days...for now, I'll just keep taking pics and save them up for when it happens.

Thanks,
LeatheRick

Somebody here referred to a website where I was able to download a toolbox app that is easy as pie to use. Highlight the files in your computer's browser that you want to resize; right mouse click; select resize pictures; choose a size; and bam, it makes a whole new set of files with "(Small)" or "(Medium)" tacked on to the end of the file name, as many files as you want all at once.

There is a sticky somewhere here...let me see, hmm. Nope. Let's try a web search.

Yup, I think this is it http://imageresizer.codeplex.com/[/img]

Works great for me, easy as pie. If, once you activate the app by right clicking, you select advanced, it gives you the option of keeping the original files and creating new size files, or creating new smaller files while leaving the originals.

Here is the sticky from the General page giving a couple of other options and the forum preferences on sizing.

Hi Rick,

When a file is to big, that doesn't refer to the actual size of the image. That is the size of the file, the amount of memory it takes. That could mean your resolution is too high: for example a resolution of 300 is way to high. 72 would be more than enough for internet use. You can have a tiny 'size' image, and a very high resolution and have your file be too big. JMO, but you might want to try resetting your resolution down to low, and enlarging the actual size of your image just a tad. That might help, depending on what you do with it after that. Are you saving it directly to your computer and then uploading to the forum, or are you sending it thru an image manipulation program first?

I'm sorry if this is too far off topic for the build journal.

Lookie lookie,

I've got PICS !!! :dancing

Now I just gotta figger out what order they're in. Let's see...OK, I think I'm gettin' the hang of this. :pictures: Bear with me folks, I'm a simple man.

I think that's all for tonight though, I'm beat. :goodnight: I did not get to work on the drop today...after I finished all the other stuff round the house and yard, I just gave in. Chillin' now with a couple of ales  and call it a rap.

Tomorrow is another day. Hopefully I can get a buddy over to help me place the bottom of my floor on.

Good job! Now you're cookin' with gas!

Re: keeping pic's in order. What I do is after downloading my pics from the camera, as I rename the files to something that makes sense to me description-wise, I also number them in order so the files stay in order alpha-numerically.

For example;

ABC123 becomes 1 Frame Front
ABC124 becomes 2 Cabin Floor
ABC125 becomes 3 Tongue Detail

That way they stay in the same order that they were taken, rather being reordered in the folder automtically.

Then it's easy to just browse to the file where my photos are and upload them in the order that they were taken. Once in the "continue" screen while loading to my gallery I can remove the sequence number before submitting.

Hope this helps.

Thanks KC,

I'm gettin' there. Not fast, but half-fast. :eyebrows:

Progress for the day:

Insulated the floor with some foam I had laying around...97942

97946 Then I glued the bottom on.97944

Now it just needs to be sealed, flipped and mounted.97945

Planning on that tomorrow. We'll see what the day brings. :scratchthinking:

Later,
