Ok one more for today, section of the top that can be removed or rolled back, 6x5 tent with a hole cut in the floor and snaps attached to the bottom . cheap way to gain head room. Walmart has a 6x5 tent now for 25 bucks,

Sharon did this with a hard top that was angeled. Saw it in person at teh Walk in teh Winds and love teh concept. She has it that way so she can stand in her galley. Hers also has hard sides. Do a trolly top that comes up. or like the old vw buses that had popups on teh roof.

Sumo:

Interesting mutifunctional design goin on therre. One option . . . Don't know if it interfers with your overall goals . . . sleeper count and exterior galley etc.

What about coming off one side with a flip out and one to the front leaving your the rear end for the galley.

Good luck with what ever you choose, :D

This is what I am thinking about doing withnthe galley. After getting a little more done I realized I didn't want to use up the floor space in the rear for the galley.

You have some great ideas...Have you seen the castaway trailer might give you some more ideas

I like your sliders Sumo:

Where did you get them (Link?) and what are they rated for, Do they come in different lengths . . . Bearings etc?
I am doing something the same but different. I targeted a 36" top of counter hieght for mine.

You could easily replace that OSB with a nice peice of metal of some kind, fire-proof /durable out door finish and rust proof . . .

Also curious on that fender flare piece : where from, what material etc.

LQQking good,

The sliders are the bed sliders from the pop up camper, I will probably replce the osb with something else, I was mainly mtrying to set the internal parts of the sliders.they are very strong.

What are teh dimensions of your trailer body. NOt the frame but what you are building. i see its about 6 feet wide but sondering how long. If i al looking at it right you have the bed toward the front and over the galley slider which i think is brillant. how much head space above teh bed will you have.

The camper part is 6' 1 inches x 8 ft. the whole traielr is 6' 1 inches x 12 foot, You are correct the main bed is over the sliding galley, I put the bed in the front in part because of weight, i wanted to keep as much weight forward as possible. THe main bed will be 4 x 6 ft and the other bed will be 2x6. the hight of the bed is about 15 inches without and padding. I can sit up without hitting my head on the roof spars. I am probably goint to put some sort of raisable roof on it .
