Re: A Simple Rimple: Staples come out tomorrow!

The staples in my knee, not the trailer, come out tomorrow!  That will be two weeks post partial right knee replacement.

Besides being allowed to start showering,  , I think I'll go into the garage and bring in all the lower trim to paint. The interior cabin shelf needs trim and to be spar urethaned. It will be easy to set up a work station for this in my office.

I knew I couldn't wait until spring to do some of the little things. Besides having homecare for the next week I think playing with these small items is more mental therapy for me. At the doctor's I might get the ok to move from walker to the cane. :worship:

I'm glad you clarified where the staples were, Barb, and glad you're doing better. Be careful not to over-do, though. This would also be a good time for dreaming up things that you'd like to do and researching and drawing up detailed documentation of all those dreams (if you're into that sort of thing). Dreaming can occupy the mind well without too much affect on the body.

Thanks for the suggestion Sharon. Since I knew I'd be off at least 6 weeks I'm learning how to play the harmonica and the uke!

That's a good thing for you; but, I hope you're practicing when you partner is out of the house or at work!

I had my first post op doctor visit today.

Staples out. OK to now shower!!!!!!!!
Moved from walker to cane!
No more compression stockings(unless there is a lot of swelling in surgery knee).
OK to ride exercise bike.
Will most likely get released to return to work at week 8.

Once my home-care visits run out(next week) I begin my outpatient PT. The previous rehab offices, that I used as a Kaiser patient, are relocated now 1 block from the house. My favorite PT lady is still there. Instead of having Rose drive me to PT at a Cleveland Clinic location and loose time at work, I'd rather just walk down the street for all my sessions. Seems like a win win to me!

Next visit in three weeks where they will xray the knee. If I am off all narcotics at that point I should be cleared to drive.

Barb I missed you having knee surgery I have a total replacement in my right knee
and a sort of clean out the pieces done to my left knee.
I have had a total of 5 knee surgeries, first back in 1964 right after my wedding.
scars up right knee but only 3 really small scars on the left knee
they have made leaps and bounds since the operation back in 1964 both
in technicque and inplant devices.

The warmer weather allowed for a few more things to get done:

Today the weather changes and temps here in Cleveland will drop quickly throughout the rest of the day.

Barb, you really know how to keep it simple. Good job!

I'll bet that good weather in December almost makes a person feel giddy. It would me, if I were living there.

The Simple Rimple is very cool. Will there be a cover over the screen or is that it?

I like the storage pocket idea.

I was thinking when I start my build I would place snaps along the top of the insides. The snaps can hold
flexible reading light mounts, close hangers, mesh nests, pockets, and insulation blankets for really cold
weather camping. Seeing yours, just makes that ideal justified.

Keep up the good work.

Thanks everyone.

Kirk..............the vinyl will start at the front and go all the way to the rear. Then in good weather I can unsnap and roll back the front section.
