I had to hide most of my wood working, not up to your standard.

Take it easy.

Wonder if Lift up ratchet supports would work for you?

Wonder if these would assist in lifting hatches on a Tear?

biziedizie wrote: I was thinking this morning about a remote screw type lift, I have the pumps and all the hardware but it might be overkill.

What about a drive unit from an old c-band sat dish, already 12 volt.
Should be able to find a scrap on cheap from someone who tore their big dish down.
Only downside is having to run out in your skivies in a snowstorm to bang on it to get it to move...lol

Just popped in, wonder if marine trim tab actuators would lift a hatch?

Image
Actally alot of 12 volt linear actuators available for marine use for opening hatches and engine compartments.
Would also hold hatch closed eliminating need for a catch, pull in, hit the remote and it opens :applause:

Just came across this DIY, Way cool and inexpensive way to lift and close the hatch

Alot of the new slide rooms on comercial RV's are now run with tiny electric motors no bigger then whats in my cordless drill.

I have a buddy that owns an RV bone yard and I'll see what he has in stock for parts.

An RV bone yard....Steve you have been holding out on us 8)
I think that a liniear actuator would work there is a video some where of one that also has a slide out stove looks pretty impressive......kinda show off piece not like you would need to show aoff ant as you trailer is looking pretty AWESOME

It would be cool to use a moose head for a door handle, or have it on the back to open the hatch.

yeah it would be cool as a handle maybe you could carve one...Tills are like where you pay for something cashier tills ...I'd look in souvenir shops that's kinda what this was where I got it I was thinking it would be cool as a licence plate holder as well I might get my friend to see if he can carve one with the new toy that he is getting (cnc machine) I have a few ideas already for some custom trim pieces if it is possible

I like that 3 board combo in the first pic. I vote for that as your color scheme right there!

The nice dark wave stuff for the lower areas and some panels; the light maple from the middle for face frames and trim; and the lighter brown for upper panels, maybe use it to inlay a design into the maple for a big statement on one panel to contrast.

Looks like the perfect tone on tone color combo to me, very masculine. You'll have to wear one of those velvet house coats, like Hef.
