The big village of laurelville here best know for its drugs and meth labs and not to forget some of the best weed in the area. My shop is a mess right now having 2 projects going on, one is on hold but making good progress on Ethel.
Image.
I stop by the shop tonight and cut the corner blocks for the radius corners on the door wall frames. I have only kreg screwed the frames together so if I need to change anything it will be easy to do. I have a lot of ideas I just need to figure out how to fit them all in what space I've laid out. Does anyone ever get that feeling that something just don't look right? Well I have that feeling and trying to adjust to get things where I think they need to be.

Lookout Ethel. Oh shades of the 70s. Will it be streaking fast? :)

I really don't have a target weight due to my tv being a 3/4 ton diesel truck. But I feel I can keep it around 2500 or less.... Everything is adding up real quick with all the white and red oak that I've been using.

Another Buckeye.

I grew up in a suburb of Dayton called Huber Heights. Now it’s own town. As for “Ethel” I was thinking
more of Alice Cooper “ Cold Ethel “.

Wow!!! 2,500 pounds for a Weekender seems like a huge amount of weight for that volume. You might want to consider some lighter materials. Strength doesn't come from weight, IMHO.

What are the overall dimensions you are going for?

For comparison, my trailer is 6 x 11 x 5.5 with lots of interior structure and fittings and windows. It check in at 1,440 pounds with 10 gallons of water and a charged port-potti. I'd say that mine is a bit on the high side owing to all the interior stuff. Just a thought.

I'm going for a 30-40 gal water tank, an ac unit with a large tongue box and a full galley the 2500 lbs was just a high weight but I do know that my frame is heavy with it being 2x3x.120 wall tube I used 3 sticks 24ft long and the tongue is 3x3x.120 wall about 10ft long and I also have more to add to it for the water tank supports.

The overall size is 5' 4" x 10' x 4'

Let's see. Water weighs 8.34 pounds per gallon, so 30-40 gallons would be 250 to 335 pounds. With the 3/4-inch plywood and huge oak framing, I don't think you would need any extra support even with tanks this large.

Another comparison: our 25-foot Airstream has a 37 gallon water tank that we seldom use to capacity because water is plentiful in most campgrounds. I should think it preferable to have a smaller tank that you drain completely frequently rather than carry around stagnant water for days and days at a time.

Are you planning to have a shower or bathtub too? Otherwise, it's hard to imagine a need for so much water storage. That's also 4 to 5.3 cubic feet for the tank. At 5.3 cubic feet, you're looking at a tank the full width of your trailer that's also 1-foot high and 1-foot wide. You might want to baffle such a big tank.

I thought Ethel is "Billy the Mountain's" wife. How's that for obscure?

I would like to have a tankless water heater and an outside shower that's also the reason for the size of the water tank. And I hope to one day go to Moab and not stay in a camp ground so having plenty of water is a must

Well I made a little progress today ot as much as I had hoped for the long weekend but I did make a big discussion and went for it by cutting to door opening.

And I have the other on the way to getting done.
And with my work schedule for the next couple weeks I knocked it all back down and stacked up out of the way. I really need to do a clean up.sorry the pic is blurry I didn't realize it was that way til now. I can't wait to get past this point being that I've been here twice and never making it past this point.
Ohh and this one is not a weekender it's a benroy style
