I managed to stain the exterior of the trailer after work yesterday and sprayed a coat of poly on it after work today, also picked up a chunk of aluminium for the rock guard on the front test fit it before I put the clear coat on this afternoon. Now if only I could find some windows and the rest of my sheet goods would show up i could finish the exterior and the cabin portion by the end of the long weekend.

Looking good and your flying along, should be done in time for the big melt.
Where in AB are you, I'm up in Grande Prairie

I've got two small vintage crank open windows that would work great in your doors, heres one I had in my back door that has now been changed out

I also have a Progressive dynamics converter
800 watt inverter
In Wall RV DVD Stereo

Down at the shop we also have a few windows but me thinks they would be too big for your build

Let me know what else your looking for, I may be able to help

Pulled the trailer out of the shop on friday to clean up, things were out of control in there. I plan on building and staining the hatch, insulating and skinning the interior and fitting the doors tomorrow. Thanks to a board member I should have windows in the next week or two.

Over the long weekend I built the hatch and fit the doors. I sanded and stained the exterior of the hatch yesterday after work and test fit it with a piano hinge today. Next up is installing the insulation in the walls and the hatch then onto skinning the interior of the hatch followed by trimming out the entire trailer with maple.

I like the colored stain. It should look great when covered with a clear coat.

I already sprayed four coats of clear on the main part of the trailer but have not got to the hatch or the interior yet.

I like the light, it looks a bit like the ceiling lights in an airplane cabin.

I can't believe the speed some of you are getting these things built! Way to go! It feels like I'm building at a snail's pace by comparison...

The build is going well, I got the walls insulated on the weekend and picked up some shiny hatch locks and hinges for the doors on monday, yesterday after work the trimming out of the exterior started.

Lookin good Garth, is there anyway to pin them catches so they cant pop open on the road?
Now if only them darn windows would get there huh? These people who say they will ship stuff....sheesh!!!

Startin to think your not really a Climbing carpenter but a Cabinette maker instead.
Going to look real nice when done and the radius on outer edge with the angles on the inner edge will give it a unique look

You're moving along quickly. I'm guessing that you'll be camping by this summer! :applause:

The light trim contrast on you darker wood tones looks good, Ryan. When I saw your first pictures, your stain color looked purple; but, once you got the rig outside, it looks like it might be a mahogany stain?

The latches actually work like a cam drawing the hatch tighter once closed. I plan on putting a stainless locking hasp on it too so if they ever pop open the hatch won't efff off and land in the ditch. The stain is a mahogany and I was really worried about the color after I put it on. Stupid florecent lights lie though and I was relieved when I dragged her outside and it looked red.

Glad the color worked out for you, but I must admit I like the purple.

Minwax used to have a line of colored stains and I did a fireside wood box in their purple. We love it!

I was at first a bit perplexed at the choice of color stain. Them I kept waiting for a Big “ G “ or “ A “ to
appear on it for a Team Logo.

But I got to say I used Purple dye and Maple before in a wood box I built some years back. They work well
together. Keep up the good work.

Hi woodland. I used varathane premium dimind clear semi gloss outdoor wood finish. It is non yellowing and has a uv protectant. Sprayed it on with my pot sprayer.
