Len,
Why do you still build the doors if they're so much work?

I hope to have it weatherized by Sunday.

BTW, I found some wheel covers that fit 12" Harbor Freight wheels, there from a Chevy Sprint. The name of the car they will fit is important. If you ask for a wheel cover for a specific Car they will have them....If you ask for a set for a trailer they'll tell you they don't sell wheel covers for trailers!

Hey Len

Ordered me some wheel covers last night. http://www.ineedahubcap.com/Merchant2/m ... ysprinthub
It looks better this way instead of just a white spoke wheel. :)

I do, but I can't find pictures of it at the moment.

I always run the outside molding through the hatch area, a continuous run, front to back and build the hatch area in about 3" each side.

Another trailer but maybe a better view.

I run a second insert molding on the inside of the hatch on the body of the trailer. This becomes the seal for the hatch.

I make the Hinge, and I use an offset hurricane hinge" 2/3" shorter than the distance between the 2 outside moldings which is a 1 1/2" on each side overhang. (+-)

This gives the water a 1"(+-) channel for it to escape.

For water to get into the galley it has to run down, make a right or left turn, run up hill and jump over a 3/8" barrier.

Be at one with the gravity! Waters like talkin to a teenager, no matter what you say, it'll do what ever it wants. And then say Duh!

Photos to come.

I'm really not that faster than most. I'll still have about 250-275 hours in this project.

The key is the shop and just blocking out the time to work on it full time.

You can get more done in 1, 10 hour day than you can working 10 hours over a 3 or 4 day period.

With the shop I have very little or no set up/knockdown time, I only have to do a good clean up once a week (I do a "Spit shine" clean up daily) and I have everything I need here before I start.

It still takes a while.

Now the bad side to doing it full time is that near the end of a project ya tend to get a little burnt out.

Like I am now, when that happens I just walk away for a while.

But I'll be back next week!

Happy Trails

That shop sounds like a dream Len. And you're right, I spend a significant amount of each work day dragging everything outside and setting up to start and then tearing it all down and moving it back inside again. But still, 200-250 hours, I don't think I was too far along at that point. I can't imagine anyone being slower than me.
