I found some 3/4" r-40 rigid foam at the big box for $8.00 a sheet so I bought 2 and brought them home. The first section of the platform has been fitted with the foam and is now ready for the 1/8" masonite bottom.

I have several sheets of masonite in the shop that I salvaged, I cut one up and attached it to the bottom of the platform, glued and screwed every 3", on the framework.

My next chore is to attach the plywood to the top; 1/4" exterior.

I installed all of the plywood on my platform as well as the hinged rear truss, The next thing to do is to final fit everything to the trailer before I start to seal and finish the platform

I finally got the opportunity to get all the components built thus far and install them on the trailer for a final fit. The framework dropped right into place on the trailer and a few taps with the rubber mallet seated it nicely. The hardware for the top has not been installed as yet so we set the platform on the frame in two pieces shown here in the folded position.

After that we opened the platform and centered it up so I could get up there and strength test it. The framework & platform are very strong and light with no movement at all.Everything in the platform system, including the tent probably weighs less than a full sheet of 3/4" ply.

Once I was satisfied with how everything will line up it was time to pitch the tent. The tent I am using right now is a Eureka 5x7. It was cheap and available and it will allow me to shorten up my timeline to completion. The permanent tent for this build is an OasisII. The OasisII was purchased without any hardware so all of the mounting apparatus will have to be fabricated. Here is the Eureka on the platform.

While I was on site I pulled off the rollers so I could clean up the wheels and mount new tires. The wheel bearings will also be re-packed next weekend, just as soon as I return from a couple of travel assignments.
