Finishing up the interior. I used the Harbor Freight anti fatigue mats to cover the plywood floor. I am using on old futon mattress with a 2 inch foam mattress toper to sleep on. My wife and I tested yesterday and it feels super comfy!

Turned out really nice! How long did it take you to finish? by the way your post seemed to flow it felt like a couple of weeks or so.
Til later, See ya

Started in September, only worked on the weekends but most of the construction after New Years. Now that it's done seems like I have an abundance of free time.

That looks really nice. I use the same floor mats and just an Air Mattress. The matts help when you place you keen on the air mattress and it goes to the floor. Softer on my old bones.

Don’t forget to post some first trip pictures.

Weekend first camping trip got rained out. :x So doing so more fine tuning of the Benroy. When I built the trailer, I followed everyone's advice to place the axel above the springs to lower the height. When I mounted the fenders in their stock location, I only had about 1 inch between the bottom of the fender and the top of the tire.
Image
I'm not comfortable with the tire that close so my alternatives are to mount the fender higher or flipping the axel back beneath the springs. I did not want to drill holes in the side of the wood so I opted for the second.
Image
Fortunately the galley height is still fine.

Next was new LED tail lights from HF. Used my 20% off coupon. Much brighter! :) For added safety, I added reflecting tape to the bumper.

Finally, some added conveniences for the inside. Cupholder and curtains. Found the curtains at Target. They are "Cafe" style and are the perfect length for the door. One package has 2 curtains.

Thanks for looking

Great trailer! I'm sure you'll enjoy it for years to come. :applause:

In 2016, I received a kidney transplant, finished my teardrop, and took it on the road! In 2017 I sold it and am back to car camping.
Thanks to all forum members who provided advice about my build and posted info to help me get started.

Thanks I really had a lot of fun building the teardrop. Weather finally cooling down enough for some Florida camping. Here are some photos of our first trip earlier this year.

Galley additions

Postby flbikejunkie » Sat Jan 24, 2015 8:43 pm

After using the tear drop a few times have decided to finish up the galley.

Added AC, cutting out the hole

AC vent door for side of camper. I hated cutting a hole in a perfectly water tight wall.
