Amazing what a coat of paint will do, the brown, beige and now white all looked 100% better than when you first got it.

Very Kool! The paint makes a lot of difference! It will be fun to watch. I don't know how the interior should be arranged, but I will be keeping an eye on it. Good luck. Dave

Thanks guys! the interior is 90% complete and solid. Just painted ugly like the outside, so besides removing some ramshackled shelves, I just need to paint it! I do need to replace the drop floor and the roof though. I am going to see what I get git done on the roof before committing to taking it off. I am sure there is plenty of rot so if I can get this usable while I rebuild my other little camper, I can switch to that one when it's done and then rebuild the Scotty the correct way. Point being, I want to get rid of my big campers and stick with tiny trailers. The Shasta is smaller and half the weight of the Kenskill and works just fine, but the Scotty is smaller and half the weight of the Shasta at only 975lbs!!! Now we're talking!! Heading out this afternoon to pick up some dinette cushions from Craigslist that came from a Scotty today, in the meantime I am gonna start working on the interior as soon as I finish my coffee, I expect another transformation!

Good day today, I picked up some dinette cushion foam from a CL deal for $50. They were from a Scotty so they were perfectly sized and they were in nice, soft and no smell condition! It was just the foam but wow when I checked it new from hobby lobby last year it was like $200!! So I am loving that and this leaves me a blank slate for what kind of material and pattern I will use. I also spent a full hour with paint thinner and a razor blade and cleaned off window #1. There is only the other front side window and the back to clean since the rear side windows are either broken or missing as well as the front window being non existent. I also removed all the non-original "carpentry" from the camper, almost ready to repaint the inside... It is cool that all the original aluminum trim around the seat base and counter tops are still there, they just need paint removal. Looking forward to gittin 'er done.

The windows were actually painted over with black spray paint before my over spray hit it which is the main reason why I wasn't worried about taping off. Who knows how long that had been on too. I worked on the rear window a while but gave up when my hands gave up on me haha... Looks real nice with clear glass!

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned it yet, but some prior owner
must have put on a new axle [or flipped it, if that is possible] on this,
as it sits much higher than what the usual Scotty does.

Cheers,
Norm/mezmo

Yes you are right! The original axle was a torsion axle and this is an axle with an offset that they installed to ride extra high! I am definitely going to be flipping it back down so it rides low! Good eyes!

I did some painting on the '65 Scotty today. I am not going to paint the counter top, as it is actually fiberglass with aluminum trim, so I am going to restore those pieces. The upper cabinet doors and lower fridge section is next to be painted. Looking better every day. Oh, and I got the sink working with the city water connection too which is cool. Before and after pics..
