Dan...check out issue #16 of Vintage Camper trailers...the guy sectioned a 25' Spartan manor into a 17 footer. Doug

I know you probably don't need any more votes to aid in your decision. 
But definitely GO FOR IT!
I would even consider building a "Standie" if I could have one as cool as the one in your original post.

(It's bad enough that you have to remove the tree....Do you think he knows something that you don't about that tree?)
