Did you get an original Kenskill Title and VIN number when you bought it?

Thanks Teepee. I did not... It had an old black CA license plate but it'd been sitting in a field for 20+ years. All I have is the serial #. And at this point, it's not even remotely a restoration project. It just happens to have the same shape.

Some. I'm using the top and interior/exterior hatch skins, the hatch hinge, almost all of the door parts include the windows. I wasn't able to use any of the latch hardware though. Very rusted. And as you can see in one of the first pictures, the galley was shot so I'm not using any of that.

Here's the galley design, for better or worse... The upper cabinet doors will be up-swing if I can get enough angle on the swing.

So I mad the mistake of putting in a 14 hour day on this thing last Saturday. A mistake in that it wiped me out and made me not like it...

I also made a pretty significant construction sequence mistake. The sides were not quite plumb without something in the galley pulling it together, and I thought I could get away with pulling the sides in after I built the countertop, shelves, and drawers. That was a wrong assumption. I built everything, pulled the sides in, and then the drawers didn't fit.

The pictures make it look much better than it really is...



The water jug will be up on a little platform:


The stove hides in that drawer when not in use, leaving a countertop extension otherwise.


This is mid-fight with the drawer fitting. Grrrrrrrrr...


It's certainly salvageable but still frustrating.

Another long weekend on the project. Put at least 30 hours in it from Friday afternoon through Sunday. Got hella frustrated at the stinkin' galley hatch though. Mostly fighting my own mistakes, but still...

Got more of the galley done. I was able to use the original light and switch. I suspect I won't like the light distribution, but we'll just see. Or not, as the case may be.


Got the doors roughed in but discovered I'd forgotten to order the interior door latches.


And please do not laugh..... or hold your applause to the end. Whichever.


And having a timer on your phone camera is nice. You can discover things that might only have been discovered after filling the water jug. Not to worry. Coleman makes a smaller one.


And checking to make sure the lights work before putting the ceiling in is probably important:

Me, too. I tried fallowing the links (by doing a mock quote and grabbing the links) but it just shows the same "bar in circle" symbol within the hosting site, as if the images aren't there.

Looking Good 3G! You'll find that roof rack to be handier that a pocket on a shirt for large, bulky, light weight items that take up a lot of space in the TV.

Mine always seems to catch a small folding table, chairs and easy-up....not heavy just bulky.

Ha! That's kinda funny considering I have very few shirts with a pocket and don't use the one's that do. Maybe I should try it...?

We're actually a family of 5 that's going to be using this thing. That rack's going to carry the kids' tents & bags, along with my anti-g chair & whatever else. I'll probably use one of those waterproof bags up there too.
