Gettin right after it! Looks good. I stuffed my back corners with fiber glass. I might use fiber glass in the top corners as well. I haven't decided. 1/2" Styrofoam bends around those nicely but glass would be much less work, especially if you do multiple layers of Styrofoam.

Nice looking trailer.

In your Needs and wants, I see your need a base camp. I did not see any thing about a Toy hauler and utility use as well. Most people leave the back of the trailer open and clean for ATV, motorbikes and using for general hauling. A few here in the forums have beds that fold up, beds that are removable, and even cabinets that can be removed. With that said, look like most of the stuff your adding is up front and all your weight of the trailer is up front all ready. There is no significant weight over the axle so far. I'm only going off what you have posted in the pictures.

Just keep an eye on that tong weight.

Yeah, sounds like fiberglass will be the easiest back in that corner. Thanks for sharing. I should have bought some 1/2" board when I bought all my 1" stuff to use in the ceiling, probably not enough flex with this stuff. Oh well, back and forth, that's the name of the game right?!

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah I've been thinking about that and I will end up putting my batteries in a sealed box, venting to the outside, just south of the axle on the passenger side of the trailer, then on the driver side, same kind of idea for my water tank when that happens. Still working out lots of details, but need to keep these things in the forefront of my planning mind! Thanks!

So back to BBS tonight, grab some 1/2" and a bit of fiberglass, hope to get the rest of it insulated today!

Got back at it tonight. I'd say it's 90% insulated. Still about 3 areas to do but they're going to wait until i button her back up. Next step is installing the fan. Then running a bunch of electrical.

Quick question. I believe i have a clear understanding of the basic electrical schematic, but one curiousity I have is this: isee some folks add a 15 amp inlet, i presume in case 30amp service is unavailable. Where/how do they wire that in? Is it "swichable" with the 30 amp lead into the charger/converter unit?

Very nice progress. I'm jealous.

Regarding electrical service, I installed a 30 amp inlet. At home, I don't have a 30 amp outlet so I use a 30 amp to 15 amp adapter to plug into my 15/20 amp outlet. The adapter is the way to go rather than installing and switching two inlets.

It's 18 bucks for a gallon vs. 70 for the Henry's 287 for 5 gallons. I'm not going to need 5 gallons, and am not eager to shell out that much either. Thoughts?
EDIT: I guess $25 for a 1 gallon of the Henry's is an option too. Had a hard time finding that at first. But then boom, there it was.

One other question.
When making a decision about exactly where to place the roof vent/fan. What kind of fun things should I be thinking ahead on? I'm already thinking about solar panels and a truck/ladder rack system potentially at some point. Other thoughts? I'm aiming at basically centered on the space for right now. Opinions welcomed....

Mark,
With your windows located at the rear of your CT I think a good position for the vent fan would be toward the front of the CT. This way you could get cross flow ventilation throughout your CT.

Working on prep for my fan hole. Built a frame/hole from some 3/4" and a couple runners that i can screw into the roof "joists". Tomorrow I'll grab some sealant/adhesive, punch a hole up there and stick that thing in.



When I'm cutting that hole, can i just do 4 holes in the corners from below, go up top, draw a line connecting corners, tape off around the cut, then scroll saw, with a metal blade? Liberal sealant all around, place the fan, screw it down, more sealant. That basically it?

Any quick through on screw selection for roof fan installation? Length isn't an issue. Rubber washers seem grippier, but I've not used the rubber washer ones. Others have a flatter profile. ..

30amp installed to the exterior, done.


Insulation done except for what I'll stuff at the end.

Tomorrow, electrical roughed in.

Well today i got my electrical
organized, all my ac circuits roughed in, and the first of my 5 DC circuits done. Wall panels back on and paint.

All in all I feel like im getting there! Tons to do still of course, but encouraging progress!

Good progress lately, just haven't been posting.

Wiring is in, walls back on, walls painted, sanded, painted, installed a couple exterior leds, flooring is in on the gate/deck, spare tire is mounted. Flooring inside tomorrow, then all my built-in's. Good times.
