Got the taillights yesterday...black, model A Ford, with the "Stop" word lit up on top.

There is so few of these in existence, and so few photos, I do not know if they had roof vents or not...but I am putting one in this build anyway. It is a period vent...small, 9" sq., with chain, spring loaded opener.

wow - that's looking fantastic. Went and got our trailer last night, I'm looking forward to getting started! Love the dark/light stain contrast!

Thanks. Now everyone of these trim pieces come back off, sealed on the back side, then glued and screwed back on with hidden fasteners. Then walls and trim coated with varnish. I doubt the originals had this much attention to waterproofing, which is why so few exist today!

I know I know. I intended to build this 30 campers ago but something different always came up. But when the frame up for a deal I couldn't resist. It's a good thing that I am in no hurry...got down on the floor to install a couple of screws real low...liked to never got of the floor! Arthritis is so bad in my hands it is tough to hold the screw gun most days. Let alone still cannot kneel down on the replacement knee. Which one of you was supposed to tell me about old age???

Lots of progress this last week...finished trim on sides, then applied spar varnish to all.
Stapled birch ply ceiling down, getting ready for roof alum. Wiring for lights, rebuilt the propane stove, pulled ice box back out to insulate, sealed up exposed plywood edges along bottom of sides.

We have a shiny roof...now the real work begins! Sanding, priming, painting,sanding,buffing!

Finally got the door mounted temporarily, and window installed. Lots to do... trim, latch, seals, etc

At least the trimming part is done...
