Yes it was a Dispatcher 100 and probably a RHD. I really can't remember as I bought it for another project about 15 years ago and never used it.

I seem to recall the side doors on the mail Jeeps being sliders with a sloping 'A'-frame front, not hinged and with the latches forward.

I think I can just turn it upside down. The window will be lower so you can look out while reclining.

Not really. There is only a door on the street side and rear. I have a window for the curb side that I'll cut in once I get to finishing the outside.

I'm confident I will wish I had two doors at some point. But this being my first go I opted for just one cabin door.

For a single door (not advised... most people end up regretting it) they are usually put on the curb side. For one, it is safer if you are pulled over to the side of the road, and two, people have reported that most developed camp sites are configured so that when you back in the common area is on the curb side while the hookups are on the street side.

Just saying, in case you hadn't heard (read) these types of issues being reported. I guess it really comes down to what type of camping you do and what your preferences are.

Agree 100%. I kicked the two door vs one door around a while before choosing to use the door I have. I discussed it with my wife and based on our planned usage we decided to use the single door. We haven't used it or gotten up in the middle of the night for a bathroom run. We'll see how that goes.

I have a large travel trailer and you are spot on concerning the connections. Good precaution on the traffic for sure. Thanks!

Installed 3" vents, one on each side of the trailer. The actual vents are just sitting in the holes until the skinning is done.









I also installed the last stabilizer.




I also got started on the window.






I also moved the spare tire forward in the under floor storage to put more weight on the tongue. Sorry - no photos. Also aired up the tires.

Hmm.. your drill press needs more zip ties to increase efficiency I think.

Installed the rear door along with the bumperettes.

The spare tire carrier will come off the door. I plan to add an 18x28 flip up work surface to the inside of the door.

Just about ready to start PMF.

Today I worked on the rear door paddle latch. The spring was worn out and no amount of lube would put zing in the spring.

Drilled out the spot welds.



It's out.



The new latch fits. It is a NOS part from Steelweld Equipment in St. CLAIR, MO. They are no longer in business. They manufactured some great service bodies.



I'll sand, prime and paint when I finish the doors.
