Way to go Tom.

I expect it to be done by LCG. I want to keep the Teardropper's Favorite award in the Aggie family

It was good to hang out with you Tom, and to see the Beetle in person! I love the tongue chest! (isn't that a drink? )

Thanks Mark. I'm still shooting for "campable" by late spring so I better be done by October.

I doubt my teardrop will be up for that award, but I will uphold the 12th man tradition of giving it all that I have. Who knows, at a teardrop outing in the near future, maybe a little "hullabaloo caneck caneck" may break out after a few adult beverages.

Thomas, I enjoyed your visit. As you know, you are welcome anytime. I'll furnish the adult beverages next time!

Tom, your build thread is going downhill fast! Oh well, better the thread in the gutter than the teardrop in the ditch!

By the way, if you need a real beverage opener, I'll be happy to lend you mine:

It's time once again for a three-week update. It seems I've been in a time warp doing a bunch of small, time-consuming details. The cold weather has not been very motivating either. :( (See Bill's Northwestern Winter Warrior build thread.)

I finished the construction of a wood chest to house my Petcool on the tongue. The chest has a bowed top and two doors - one on the side and one of the end, that will open to allow intake and exhaust air for the Petcool. To give it an aged look, I used Transtint dye to bring out the color. After this is fully dried, I will epoxy and varnish the chest.

Image

The teardrop cabin is fully enclosed. As you may recall, I used engineered flooring for my wall finish, but had barely enough to finish up the exposed area of the interior bulkhead. So, I used pre-finished birch paneling in the areas that will be hidden by the bulkhead and footboard cabinets.

Image

Next, I completed about three-fourths of the roof insulation. Before the rest of the insulation can be done, wiring for the interior dome light and the Fantastic fan has to be installed.

Image

(The plywood panel at the bottom of the teardrop is where the supply air from the Petcool will go through the wall to two supply grills in the top of the headboard cabinet.)

Gig'em, Tom

As always, looks great! I know what you mean about the small, time consuming details. You work all day and then think, "wow, there's nothing I can take a picture of and post on the forum." Oh well, keep plugging away!
