Thanks Sharon and Kent, didn't get insulated but did caulk all the holes and around the edge of the headliner. Will insulate this weekend and install a plywood piece pocket screwed in so I can add a undercounter tv/dvd/fm radio between the dome light and cabinet.

Just keep plugging at it when you can, Cliff. That's what I did and it got done. I think Georgia weather allows camping almost year 'round, doesn't it?

Cliff your build is lookin great! I'm almost to the wiring portion of mine. Quick question, you have the create-a-breeze Fan-tastic vent/fan right? That's the model 8000? Where do the wires come out of the unit at? I will be wiring mine soon and want to wire it for the vent fan but since I don't have it yet I don't know where to let the wires out. Maybe I could get a pic of where yours are coming out? Thanks Cliff and keep up the good work!

Cliff,

I'm with Robbie - your build is looking great. It is amazing how much wiring can be involved especially if you have both a 12vdc and 120 vac systems! I still fighting through the spaghetti myself. BTW, I really like the different woods and the interior finish of your teardrop.

Take care,
Tom

Thanks Dave, Robbie and Tom for the compliments, I've decided I have 5 months to finish, as that will be the 1 yr mark from when I started . I didn't say it wouldn't be campable just the 99% mark .

Robbie I have it fixed so the hinge of the top is towards the front so when it opens it opening is towards the galley and lid is towards the truck. It is an 8000 and the wiring is on the drivers side at the front of the opening 2" from the front spar of the opening on the side brace on the drivers side. I will take a pic tonight for you. All of my 12V wiring and battery wires are ran on the drivers side of the tear and then branch to the devices (lights and fan and porch light). Hope that helps.

Tom the different solored wood is all maple or birch that I use at work and left over pieces that I sanded down (cabinets, doors) or just used (trim), I just picked up some some nice colored chocolate brown rope to run on the inside edge between wall and headliner as all the wood trim I was unhappy with the way it looked especially as it usually cracked .

Hey Cliff

Anything new to report?
I was wondering if you put your roof on or if you reworked your hatch lid yet. What ever you do just take your teardrop time.

Hey Larry,
got in late and was only able cut the skins to the width but not the corrext sizes to line up with the spars. I will have more time this weekend to get it skinned, but I'm thinking that I want to add blocking to the side like Starleen2 did on the "The green lantern" to make it easier to attach the skins too. Trying to figure still how I want to finish the outside especially with all the different options that people use: Stain/seal/primer/paint/spar varnish, putty/sand/epoxy&tape/paint, epoxy/skin ith AL, stain seal/putty/epoxy&tape/spar varnish (Woody) lots of options and even some woody's that leave the epoxy out of the equation :?. So many options and choices ,

Hey Cliff,

Any new photos? What about the exterior, decide what you are going to cover it with?

Looking good!
