Progress has been in that "lots of work...but little change" category this past week!
Still taking pictures (boring type) as I am working a little backwards to the order in which a traditional Teardrops are built, as things have to be installed as you can access them. :NC
As once the final body shell goes on, these items can't be reached or painted (painting inside and out is important on an all steel body),
Small details like stereo installation, heater mount, fuse panel box, plug and switch boxes (AC & DC), speaker mounts, interior lights, drawer runners, etc.
All of which that need to be in place before they are buried by welded in interior panels.
While this is going on I am continuing to restore the automotive components of this project ie. door latches, interior & exterior handles, interior moldings (blasted, body worked, & primered) headliner bows, etc.
Hope to get the top layer of the floor welded in this weekend. :worship:
The Dam Gathering is coming up way too fast! :frightened:

Still taking pictures...

Given the "pics or it didn't happen" rule, you haven't moved forward since January. Folks, I think Brian's trying to put one over on us: there is no Kermit.

Good to hear you're getting lots of time in. When you get on a roll, stopping to make notes isn't much of a priority. The Dam's a-comin' but it sounds like the build is rolling along too. Sure there's still lots of the elephant left to eat, but one bite at a time...

What made you go with welded-in interior panels inside rather than liners ?
Was it to eliminate the plywood backing ?

I may have chosen the wrong description when I said interiors panels. :?
I do plan on having regular snap in "Interior Upholstery Panels"
The panels I am welding in are for my receptacles and switches.

Makes total sense but why can't you just build your TDs out of wood like the rest of us do ?

Hands up, folks: how many of you have looked at a car and though "that would make a great camper?"
I now think that every time I see a 55 Nomad (damn you Brian, you've ruined the coolest station wagon in all of creation !)

OMG. Those tailfins brought back memories of my first car, a 59 Rambler S/W. It was Rustoleum red & white and got 13 mpg, no matter how easy or hard I drove it. It'd go zero to 60... eventually.
I'll burn that bridge when I come to it.

They did a nice job on the 57 but it's still sad they couldn't restore the car.

There are lots of restored ones!
Unfortunately they are all the same!
In the business there is an old saying......"Anyone can restore one, but It takes a real man to cut one"!
That's what keeps the interest going in the old car hobby.
But, I personally love "All" cars in whatever form! And I appreciate them for the work that has been put in by their owners.
I guess that is why I have become so attracted to Teardrops? I love the uniqueness of each one.....and the ingenuity and workmanship that their owners have displayed. Either as a total build or just personalizing a pre built trailer.
There are some wonderful craftsman here on the Forum and we have seen some wonderful builds at Gatherings. :applause:
Keep them coming! ;)
