The isn't a whole lot left to do, but it's too %&*#$#!!! hot to work on the TD -- over 100 degrees for around six days straight. :sweaty:

Soooooo, CaseyKraft 2 sits in the garage untouched, for now. :(

CD - I know what you mean - almost melted on my lunch break today. I was planning on resuming my build this weekend, but after seeing how hot it is, I'm not sure if that is possible.

 We do have an extra bedroom and I probably can get my miter saw and workbench in there and start on cabinet frames. I wonder what the better half is doing this weekend.

You wimps  I go out for a couple of hours each evening and sometimes during lunch (put in an hour during lunch today, mostly sanding). I need to get the galley done and it isn't going to get any cooler over the next few months. We are taking the tear to Tenn. at the end of July and I'd like to have it finished. I hope to get a lot done this weekend. Just drink plenty of fluids and take regular breaks. :icedtea: A fan helps too. :fan:

Glenn, if you haven't suffered from at least one bout of heatstroke while building your tear, you ain't working hard enough. Turn on a fan--the air and rivers of sweat will cool you down.

I have to do some work in my barn this weekend. When I drove by it yesterday, the temp was 106! Looks like I'll be working early and late and taking a siesta from 9 until 9!
Still graced with two eyes and ten fingers (due in no small part to luck!).

Just when you think a problem is solved, an uglier result replaces it.

Good news! I was reading the paper and they said El Nino will be pushing the high pressure above us out on Sunday or Monday and the highs will only get up to 97 or 98!

I was running some errands before starting to work on the teardrop today. The car thermometer said 107 degrees. When I got home and headed out to the garage, the heat evacuated all the air in my lungs, and I barely made it back inside.

This heat didn't used to bother me. In 1980, I was working on a steel erection crew when we had over 30 days in a row temperatures over 100 degrees. Of course now 50% heavier and twice as old. I guess I'll be a wimp and wait until it cools down to 97 tomorrow.

OK, Just checked the Thermo. here in the N. GA mountains. 62.6 F. at 7:12 am. But . . . with the humidity (80%) you have to swim if you go outside :o

So, today I braved the heat, and went to Home Depot and ordered the sheeting for my roof skin. It should be here this week.

There is a ten degree break forecast for Saturday, so I am hoping to work then.

I need to get my $99 AC unit, and build that in this week, and then skin the roof and finish the hatch. Then I can put a few coats of paint on it and it will be campable. Not done, but campable for the Guadalupe adventure in a few weeks.

And on the second day of the week, Dog went forth to purchase sheets of roof material. And he saith to the demi-god, Home Depot, Dog doth needest this by week's end. And the seemingly obedient Home Depot responded affirmatively unto Dog, "Thy will be done."

Alas, though, Home Depot dost not seeith the presence of a cat in the system of procurement, and thus, the sheeting did not arrive.

And there was much weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Why, oh why has though forsaken me, Home Depot? Have I not been good to you so many times -- showering you with cash and credit cards over and over again?

And so, Dog retreated to his house, to consume tasty meats and uplifting beverages, in waiting for the day when his sheeting shall arrive.

And the Dog's people say, "Amen".

Dog hath received his materials, and di calleth upon the archangel Spinnernut. And they dost installeth the roof.

And, without rest, they proceedeth to install the miracle air cooling box.

Then, they rejoiced, and ate from the sacrificed cow, and drank the nectar provided to them by a saint called Jim Beam.

And upon the next day, Dog did buildeth his hatch frame.
