Good to hear from you Tom and thanks for the kudo's buddy!! The headboard cabinets will have just a few bits of framing around the flush mount doors. My brother has done bending forms before, mostly for solid wood bending. I had to look them up on youtube for plywood (so I didn't look too green to my little bro). I'll be working on the rear cabinets this week. I can't wait to have the walls up!

Cheers,

Dave

We've been working on the cabinetry for a bit...still bending the plywood.

Image
I made the little filler piece that fits under the rear deck. It will be covered with 1/8" ply at the same time as the exterior.

Image
This is the aft cabinet framing all glued and nailed. I used dado joints for the horizontals and drilled for the adjustable shelves to come.

Image
Another angle of it.

Now I have to get the galley cabinet ready and then we should be able to stand the walls!!

Cheers,

Dave

Thank you Debbie and Oregonguy! The edge frame and the lower drawers match the radius. Going for a very clean deco look for the cabinetry...if I don't screw it up. :worship:

Dave

This week we got one of the walls up and pressed on with the cabinet work.

Image

Image
I attached the rear little fill piece under the deck. This had to be done before we could permanently attach the walls.

Image

Image
Here we have one glued and screwed drivers side wall and the framing for the galley cabinets. We just placed the cabinets to see how things are fitting. Looks good so far.

Image
Here we have a view of the interior aft cabinets also set in place for a test fit. You can see the two 'T' braces under the front face holding it up for the test.

More to come soon,

Dave

WOW! That is so cool the way everything is fitting up, everything looks like it mates up perfectly. This is amazing watching this come together. Great job, Jim

Dave,

The photos of the Travelear construction continue to impress. Building inside out is the way to go. I wish that I had done that. Keep of the good work and photos of your techniques.

Sincerely,
Tom

Hey thank you Jim, it's much appreciated.

Thank you too Tom, it seems like a good method at least so far.

Have a few update images to share today. Last evening Lisa and I fit the curved face frame to the aft inside cabinet. She's a great partner (likes to sand). So today I needed to see how the overlap is lining up and to test fit the passenger wall. It's held with two hand clamps and a long pipe clamp.

It was wonderful to see my girl's eyes sparkle looking at her galley for the first time even in this state. She immediately started talking about additions to the galley, 'need another shelf here and maybe a wire rack there...'

Image
You can see my electrical chase in this shot with its 1/8" plywood cover in place.

We only have a few more cabinet details to complete before these elements will be assembled.

Thanks for checking in,

Dave

Enjoying watching your plans come together Dave, great documentation. The deco theme is making this an instant classic IMO. Hope to see the completed beauty in person one day somewhere out in the world.
