To not re hijack your post Felix mine owes me.
1000 doors
1000 plus trailer plus another 400 to powdercoat.
About 250 insulation
560 or so for ply/timber.
And about 600 in bolts glue fittings ect.
I'll be in this for 5000 or more but at the caravan show this weekend there was far worse on sale for 34,000

true but you are making a big trailer (mine is 8x4 and fairly spartan)
Keep up the good work

So I've gone back to my original plan like i said and fitted the subfloor from front to back.
Spent all day with a mate cutting and grinding and welding.
It's 35mm or inch and a half higher than before but it means it's now just like building a normal teardrop on a higher platform pretty much.
My aims to get it to the powder coater Saturday but work might not let that happen

I've been busy working and my old man tilers knees are more broken than Paris Hiltons hymen....but I've got alot done especially this afternoon after work.
I removed the floor and walls the otherday and extended the upper sub frame as I said last post.
Today I removed the axle and springs turn the trailer on its side and proceeded to weld up anything that I didn't weld up previously.
I also caped off the 2x1 intermediate for mounts and welded flange nuts in for the gaurds mounts.
I've decided to go with hermitie hammerite paint instead of powdercoat due to how easy the bad paints coming off and it's 330 dollars cheaper.
Try to upload some picks tomorrow... hope to get some draw runners too

I laughed out loud on the hymen thing. Can you get a product there called POR15? It is absolute magic on rusty frames.

Good stuff, but make sure to remove any unsound paint before applying. Grit blasting would probably be best, but a cup wire brush in a hand held grinder would get the job done. Just be sure to wear proper eye protection, dust mask, and a heavy shirt (or preferably a leather bib apron). Flung wires from the wheel have a tendency to poke you in the belly and can definitely be an eyeball hazard!

Yea I'm using a wheel called a rippa strippa and it's scotch Brite sorta stuff and strip it back like a treat.
I've looked at por15 but it's no better than this hammerite and it's 66 vs 160 for the por with primer ect.
The frames duragal so no rust just difficult to adhere to

The galvanized is best left to weather for a while before painting. I used some hamerite on my guards called "direct to galv".

Yea was going to use that but only came in smooth.
I'm using the standard stuff over thier special metals primer.
Trailer frames pretty well weathered but reading the duragal tech support stuff it is fine to paint over fresh with an etch primer like there's.
I was hoping to get some more done today but the main fuse from the street supply just went off like a bomb 2 hours ago so I'm waiting on getting it fixed

well there ya go, thats what 3 half days of welding and paint removal and linnishing look like
i added a hitch reciever for bike racks ect even if i dont use it because its easier now than later.
sad part is it cost me 52 bucks to get less than 2 feet 0f 2,5 inch reciever with a 16mm hole in it, they argued it was reasonable.
guy said it took me 15 minutes to set up the machine, i said if you cant drill press a hole in a piece of 4 mm steel in under 20 minutes you should be working at mcdonalds not a fabrication shop,
to add insut to injury they charged me $1 for a piece of steel from there 80 cent a kilo bin after id brought this up for a piece of steel that didn even come close to wieghing 500 grams... like it was a favour... bastards

Looking really good. Are you taking the floor flat all the way to the back now?
With that hitch on the back, you could just about take the boat along as well

Lol. Yes my plan all along was to have a separate subfloor I could waterproof separately from the main floor.
I'd planned for 4 draws ...2 at the back and one each side.
I'm heading back there or something simmilar

Found a bunch of different draw slides but I'm leaning toward at least one rear draw on 1500mm long runners that will be a bench top with storage underneath
