Sorry folks, no more pics yet. At this point I feel comfortable saying that I don't like working with aluminum. I'm in my own personal aluminum hell right now... The trim is no fun, but it's not as bad as working with the skins.

I'll get some more pics posted this weekend. I promise! Hopefully they will be taken outside with some good daylight this time.

I wish I could remember when I got my last tetanus shot...

Yeah, how are you gonna trip over stuff and come up new four letter words? I'm pretty sure I could still do it, but I have a special talent for that...

I'll bet there are some new words being made while you're working with that metal trim.

Doggonemknockenderstockins! Oh, that's not four letters, is it?!

We finally had some nice warm, sunny, weather today. I rolled the trailer outside, got some trim work done and snapped a few pics..

This side is mostly done... The marker lights are installed and all but two small pieces of trim are complete.

I temporarily installed the tail lights to help flatten out the skins. I also installed all the trim and the rear of the trailer.

Hey Bill - iut looks just fine - that aluminum may never lay flat, but it looks good just as it is! :applause:

Thanks Scott. You know, I think it really looks better in person. The aluminum is laying flatter than the pictures make it appear. I did notice, however, that after it sat out in the sun for a while, it started to show some of that "oil-canning" you had mentioned before. Since I'm going for a retro look anyway, I kind of like that the skins aren't completely flat. It's going to look old on it's maiden voyage!

It looks to me like you're doing a good job. I'm amazed that you're skinning with aluminum on that particular style of trailer as I would think you would need to take a great deal of extra thought and care where the top lifts up and down over the sides.

Thanks Sharon... I'm kind of amazed (now) at my decision to use aluminum. I think it will look good but it's a lot more work than I anticipated. I think a good coat of fiberglass or paint would have been a much easier option.

You might want to put a roof on it first, just in case it rains
