Would love to go see the fair. But catching a steamer from the east coast to the UK may be a problem, with out a pass port I would have to stow away, and nobody would notice a yellow car and trailer coming aboard.

enjoy del

PS Vicky wants to borrow the car next week.

Roasted Nuts spring to mind !!!

New family is doing well.
:baby: :woohoo:
the night time feeds are a real test of sleep deprivation.
things are a little slow on the build.
have managed around 6 hours on welding the side joints so far.
its also getting a capping run on the inside too.
the door surround is 1/8"out of line due to the sill i made.
this may get some adjustment if its noticeable after the door is fitted.

will post more piccies when the welding is complete & it gets more interesting.

Hello All.

2 hours on it today.

butt welding the sheets together has come back to haunt me.
just not happy enough with the finish.
should have gas welded the joints so they would have beaten better.
decided to rivet a joining strip over the top to hide the joint & add strength.
Image

in future, will either lap & rivet the joint or purchase an over-sized sheet.
still have the other joint to do on this side.
Image

its just short of the window rubber so as not to interfere with the seal.
will have to remove again for metal finishing before fixing permanent.

hope to make more progress on it next week.

as allways, your comments are welcome.

best rgds dan.

Just checked my diary, only 21 complete days off work till completion.

What could possibly get in the way of that ???

Oh Yeah, her !

there's also mornings & evenings when some build time can be re-couped.
can safely forget the fitting out till after The Great Dorset Steam Fair.
Pressure is on !
will post build piccies tomorrow.
