Feel free to "clutter up the thread, or whatever... I am not at all territorial about "my threads"

Ageless, glad you liked it.

SEEMS MY HOUSE HAS SOLD ! !

When Nicola and I get married in August, we hope to buy this house, with a 30x30 garage. Enough space I guess to shoehorn about 6 mk2 VW Golfs into.

Lots of space for "stuff" and to do projects........ Maybe even an indoors trailer build .

The garage is down the bottom of the garden, with wheatfields behind, and in front of the house it is the same, very rural , which is what we want.

Behind the bush is a garage.

Image

Currently the owners have a trampoline for their daughter in front of the one side......

Image

There is another door on the other half, behind the overgrowth, and trampoline..... SPACE !!
Current owners use this space as a afternoon sun spot, and it is very private too, which helps keep eyes away from toys and projects.

Image

Lastly, to give an idea of the size, this is a view of the rear of the building seen from the wheatfields.

Image

This will solve problems like only having space for either the trailer here at my house, or the bus, and having to find space elsewhere for our toys.

Also allows me to set up a half decent "body and woodwork shop on the one side.

And gives Nicola and I a garden to relax and potter in.

Keep your fingers crossed please. 8)

A bit different - Archery trailer. I would, would you ??

Postby grizz » Sun Jun 13, 2010 2:35 pm

Saw this trailer at a youth camp today....

Thought it could be converted into a very nice rear entry small trailer.

I think with a little ingeniuety, it could be a different, but great little narrow trailer.

Due to me not being prepared to resize 86 pics, I will post the link to where I posted a thread from a real nice Car show.

A great mix of American and European cars.

I also got to see my bus and hear it run with thenew engine.

Pleas take a look on the thread, and feel free to resize what you like and post on here.

Well, I guess like most things, this was born out of necessity.

At Classic Ford and other meetings , Oldbus and others always have the BBQ.

However, we do not know who we will be camping with at the Retro Show in July at Santa Pod, so I thought it wise to make a small 2-3 person BBQ that can be abused and used as needed.

Picked up a couple of empty Helium tanks today from Party balloon suppliers at the tip, along with a Briggs and Stratton petrol lawnmower.

2 Angle grinders, hammer, vice, mig welder, some bicycle seat uprights, a handlebar cut in half and some offcut stainless steel mesh, an hour playing in the garage, and we have a basic BBQ that should work just fine.

Image

Quick cut here, and there....

Image

Leaving me with this

Image

Small rest area on side for meatbowl to rest on and keep meat warm till all is ready to eat.

Image

Hacksaw and welder later, has us with a functional tool, just need to cut the slots for the air to flow through.

Image

Trust you like.

I really would have prefered to have used a Jerry can and made a closing lid BBQ with handle, but not having a jerry can meant having to resort to this.

The other one is to cut in half so that I can use it as a recessed section in the gas bottle and battery box, below the top level of the A-frame of the trailer at the front.

Hi Grizz & Nicola: I like that you think outside of the box as we say here in the states. I think the use of those very expensive tanks, not, is a very good idea. You come up with some great ideas to save money buy building it yourself. Are you going to make it run on propane or charcoal? I like to reuse stuff to build other things out of them so I can save money, too.

That way people appreciate what you have built that much more and give you a thumbs up for using your head for more than a hat rack.

I like that little trailer, also. Did you buy it?

Keep the ideas coming and I may steal them from you, that is if you allow me to. You guys take care and have fun this summer in the Grizz-Pod... :applause:

.... just checking in; ....

... nice job on the completed tear!

It turned out well; better than I expected!

Looks sharp! ;)

.... you were out of comission with a cold, then the snow; your posts seemed to drop off a little; then it looks like you got very busy after recouperating and got her done and started using it "pronto"; great! Its a great feeling to use ones own handy work.

Thanks for sharing.

BBQ .... too cool dude!

Rian! Your pics continue to please... and your stories are entertainment!

Love the BBQ!

I drive those KW "lorries" and the Chev panel trucks are still available here in the States for whatever, depending on condition. I would imagine shipping one would be near the purchase price...

Thanks Dave,

Praise indeed.

I am very pleased with the way it turned out.

The BBQ is one of many I have made over the years, it is easy to buy one for £25 at the hardware store, but much nicer having people ask about the bits that make up a home built.

The trailer has delivered and surprised both Nicola and I with the reactions it gets, we wanted nice, we got great.

Yes, I am chuffed to bits.

Not sure if I need to build a mark 2 or even a 3rd one.

The next big job over winter after we have moved into the new house is to get my bus fitted out on the inside and then to get the body prepped and painted.

House sales in the UK are mad affairs, the buyer and seller can pull out on the day of contract exchange, at which point a lot of money will have been spent by both parties, so lets hope it all works on the 30th July.

Tanks were steel, judging by the spark quality and feel under the grinder and welder, not much more than decent mild steel.

I just use sparks and flash from the welder to keep the leg hairs under control.

It is a bad thing that I do not use more safety stuff, but being sensible has helped to date, all the safety equipment in the world could not save someone thick or stupid.
Likewise "acts of God" when something catastrophically self destructs, I am not sure the safety equipment will help that much.

Should you not be in bed ??
