I think I'll use a pre-built trailer. I want to use this b/c it comes with a certificate for the DOT correct?
If I build one from scratch I'll have to have it certified. I think. If I alter it will this void the DOT certificate? I can buy the Northern trailer that is 4x8 and then reinforce it, cut it into what I need. Or I could just get the axle I need and all the hardware for about the same price. The advantage would be the certificate.
I'm going 60" wide and I want the wheels under the trailer. Like the camper above or like my og design. Wheels 55-58" hub to hub and 48" mounting bracket. Not sure how far the wheels will stick out past the hub. Will have to measure the backspacing of the wheels and all to figure that. My Northern store only has the pre-built trailers out in the yard. They don't have the folding or other "Assembly Required" ones out. If they did then I could just measure all that I need to measure. Duh
