polishing

Postby mvperini » Sun Aug 22, 2010 9:26 pm

Doug
using 3m heavy duty polish with angle buffer, when i get the roof back on i will polish the whole trailer with a finer polish to take out swirl marks

the wife is going to hand sand all the birch inside the trailer before we put our finish on Amber Shellac

1957 cardinal

Postby mvperini » Sun Aug 22, 2010 9:45 pm

Thanks for the kind words :R Yea i can not wait for to put the roof back on so i can start pulling all the windows to seal them and polish the edges of the metal around the windows before putting them back in. the wife thinks i am Anal about getting every little area on the trailer polished

Question Does anybody know if the trailer came with a rear couch or a bed. the wife wants a bed so she does not have to make the bed every night Me i am looking for more storage and a place for the porta potty

Regards Mike

Mike...are there any old holes in the walls from a previous remodel or any pattern on the floor that indicates things have changed? A full bed will allow you more storage underneath. For me...the full bed is more practical than a gaucho thing, I'd bet no one wants to convert it every day. Besides...foam and upholstery work is expensive...a mattress is cheaper. I'm shorter on length than yours however, and it's pretty much just me. Doug

bed

Postby mvperini » Mon Aug 23, 2010 8:32 am

Doug.....
I think it was a gaucho thing, but when i bought the trailer somebody had put a bed frame in the back, but the job was such a hack job i removed and threw everything away  , so i will have to design a new bed frame with ample storage

Hope to have the trailer ready for a camping trip the first weekend of Oct.
Worked on the rear of the trailer today had to take out all the side runners {2x2] and replace them and added extra support for the floor. now i am making curved runners for the trailer to attach the trim and top and sides

Just went through your whole album, that is a really nice score I say again! Yeah, I bet it is pretty shiny in your eyes eh! We had a nice cool front come in today and it was the first day that it wasn't a furnace outside in I don't know how long! I hope you can cool down soon too!

shocking

Postby mvperini » Sat Aug 28, 2010 10:11 pm

Almost forgot about the polisher i was using, had the rear panel on the ground and i was polishing away when i felt a little tingle, was not paying attention and the power cord on the grinder got wraped around the spinning part of the grinder and pulled the cord out of the grinder and made full contact with the aluminum sheet i was polishing. good thing it was only 110 AC. I have a high tolerance to 110. i worked for the power company when i was younger trimming trees from the power lines and made contact with high voltage lines more time than i would like to addmit and lived to talk about it.
