Ya that is. I have to look that one up..

Ben

have you given any thought of placement of water tanks, AC, and battery. I been playing with my Benroy
plans. I was thinking I can squeeze in a center mounted AC, about 25 Gal potable hot water tank for the
outside shower and my Hot water on demand system, + 1 or 2 Battery. All of this will be balanced as close
to the axle along with a grey water tank under the frame. I’m still measuring all my components and planning.
Here the link to the post. Just a thought for you to kick around around.

That looks interesting. But I've had a pop up camper before and have trouble with the lifting gear and putting a awning on them puts to much side pull on the lift gear. But are you going to have hard walls or canvas? That could help with the rigidity issue I was speaking of.

I was going to go all wood, but after seeing The Northern Lights Build, I want to try a lightweight aluminum
frame for the top shell. The bottom will be just like a wood build.

I was thinking the same thing about an yawning would pull on the top. A bad wind storm might shake it a
lot too. That is the reason I’d like to be able to use the TD in the lower position for bad weather or just a
quick one night stop.

The pop up ideal is not for everyone. I just interested in where on your Benroy you were planning on putting
the water tank and ac. It sounds as if your will be about the same size as mine. In my planes I have to push
the axle back so it would not interfere with the top moving shell. This made the overall shape look funny so
I added a foot and a half to keep the benroy profile. This make for really deep galley cabinets or a space
inbetween the galley and the sleeping area. That is where I going try to stuff all my campers life support equipment.

The water tank will be behind the axle. I have a 10ft long body with the axle being 4' from the rear. I plan on having a tongue box with 2 batteries and the ac unit I don't have the ability to do cad so I can't show what I have planned but by the first of the year I should be able to show some pics right now I've worked 70 hrs this week and have to work tomorrow. And next week is about the same so work has stopped on Ethel for now but the walls are about to go up for the last time. And with all the hrs that's being worked I should have $$$ for parts! :D

Mel Tillis as a gas-station attendant in "W.W. and the Dixie Dancekings": "Regular or Ethel?" Burt Reynolds as W.W.: "Ethel, if she's workin'."

55 Olds Special.

That's what I think of when I hear "Ethel".

Lookin good! Did you ever decide on what length axle? I wish i would have made a wood axle first and then cut it down till it was the perfect length if that makes sense lol.

I'm having a hard time deciding on what wheels I'm going to use. And I would like to have them before I order my axle so I don't need spacers. Your frame looks bad ass. It's right down the line where I'm going with mine. I have a few ideas up my sleeve that I'm going to leave out so you don't beat me to that idea. Lol.

Ben glad to see Ethel coming along so well!! Great job! Tires you want to check on but since these trailers are not that heavy you can always go with a passenger car tire and get a better ride than a standard trailer tire. Just a thought!

Keep it up
