Well, Xmas is right around the corner. In dire need of money these next couple weeks, I'm getting anxious to start cutting some wood here. On a good note I got some brackets for the lights, got my side marker lights installed and the brake lights installed. Apparently you can't just buy trailer wire by the foot anywhere around me so I went online and got some. Should be here tomorrow. It's X-mas time so I of course have to work over the weekend. Hopefully I can just get a couple days in here where theres some beer and wiring going on. In need of a Vacation!

We're choppin' at the bit, waiting to see it; but, your chassis looks nice and sturdy. You'll get there.

Trailer is all wired. Bought some license plate lights off ebay and need to make a bracket for the license plate. Also need to get a 7 Blade Pin to Flat 4 coil cable. Then to get the trailer registered with a plate. Then time for wood. Really hoping I get some cool stuff for xmas to help this along. Some pictures of the clearance lights and tail lights. Thanks for the comments guys, helps me stay motivated during these cold months!

Now I have a bet going with the girl that I can get this done for next year so I told her no more projects for me till its done. Finally got the kitchen finished so now all my money gets dumped into the trailer. Finally. If I don't get it done by next year she's buying a trailer. Not a fan of that idea.

Looks like I'm going with FRP sides. The aluminum sides are bugging me. Looks awesome but brings the price up so much. Also I'm looking into how to seal the seams. It looks like I'm going to varnish all the exterior pieces and edges. Then use that weather tape stuff where the roof meets the sidewalls. Frp will lay over that with aluminum trim on the edges. The bottom will be oil base exterior paint and I'm probably going to paint the interior the same. I love the look of wood inside but I think the ceiling and walls will be painted. Interior cabinets will be stained wood to break it up. Hatch hinge will be the mc master plastic hinge with a rubber seal underneath it. Debating on doors to either buy the doors or make them. Anyone have any issues with your made doors let me know. That's the plans. Electrical is all ran from a WFCO and a deep cell. All lights are LED. A lot of them. And that's what I'm going to try and stick too. Gotta clear out the garage and being the trailer back and get to work.

Well, since its raining like a MoFo right now. I'm going to be staying up and designing my trailer to the "T". I'm debating on a benroy style as I really like the others that are swooped in the front but I'm going to be running an Air conditioner in the front and the benroy allows me to hide it in the tongue box... I might see if I can do the swoop and get enough from it to incorporate the air conditioner as well... You guys will see what I come up with shortly. Since my trailer is rather long as it is I will be needing 2 peices of 4x8 for the sides anyways, mine as well add the swoop to the front. Enough talking, I have enough beer from a fireworks party left over to get this done soon, I believe.

Ok sooo... Theres not enough beer in this house to convince me to go with the other style, its just too out of proportion. I think the tounge box will give me the storage I'm looking or anyways. I do think though I am going with a custom door, I've came up with an idea for sealing that hopefully will take a lot of the headache of sealing a custom door. Wish me luck! Profiles are below, the one is just too hotdoggy

Well... Got another rendering done... after doing some weight calculations it looks like I'm going to have to run wheel wells... I'm actually really not happy about this, Looks like I'm going to be cutting and welding some tube after all. In order to do this to my liking I'm going to have to move the axle back towards the rear, which probably will help my tongue weight anyways... Just debating on if selling this trailer for a 5x10 trailer is better in the long run or if a HF 4x8 is in the future as I just want to build a teardrop and I'm getting tired of this trailer. I need a beer...

New plan haha... Cut the back off a foot. weld a new bumper in (simple enough), move some wiring around. Make the actual cabin 8 foot long and add a 2 foot tongue box to the front and stiffen the leaf springs... The money I save in not doing a full 11 foot cabin I can put towards the spring or even a new axle that is longer... Its actually a bigger savings then you think. A couple beers and a buddy (mechanic) figures everything out... He'll never let this go as I'm technically the engineer of the group... New design!!

Ok, new plan, go with the flow. I'm just going to see how it does and if it doesn't work with this trailer I'll build a frame around what ever I build... Over planning it out here, 8 foot is too short for my wants. Worst case scenario, go for a test drive, blow the tire through the floor and take the cabin off and build a new trailer.

After some research I will be building on the current platform. The problem with the platform is me :) !!! If anything I can get a Torsion Axle put in towards the back. The whole reason i got this trailer was because of its size. I'm reworking some ideas for the rear galley. I've started on making the floor platform. I also got some carpet tiles for the dollars store for super cheap. Going to the store to get the plywood today after work.

Preplanning is crucial, but don't overthink it either. You'll get there.

Been a while since I posted but since the previous remodel I have gone full bore into the trailer. I have the floor built and mounted. I am currently trying to figure out what I have to do in michigan to register my trailer. It's technically going to have to be registered under a homebuilt trailer because all I have is a bill of sale and an unknown axle. I have all the lights need and waiting on my reflectors to make it full legit. So after a weight ticket and an inspection I should be good. BTW my design has completely changed to a somewhat offroad design. As in Zero curves. More truck like. I drew the design I previously had onto the sheet and it didnt look as good as I wanted it to. Drew some sharp angles to it and matched the truck a little better and a little easier to assembly because of my new found love for a router :D . I'll keep you guys posted!!!

Registered. Fully in effect now. Wish I could figure out how to upload pictures from my phone. I got quite a bit done since it's been registered. I've got most of the front framed in. The air conditioner area is a little much but ehh its more structure right. Got the windows. The large one is cut in already. Fits like a glove. Just some eBay windows, got a great deal on 3 of them. Designing my own thermostat for the air conditioner as we speak. I'm starting to head in the way of a fully automated lighting system. I would like to have control of the hatch lights inside the cabin. At the least I'm going to put indicator lights on the inside to show there is a hatch light still on. Clearly I have a habit of leaving lights on haha. More to come, I'll see if I can get some pictures up here shortly.
