Very nice!!

What did you use to waterproof the roof?

I am thinking about Grizzly Grip.

I haven't put the roof on yet, guess I shoulda worked from the top down...

My roof is 8' X 12" so it looks like Grizzly Grip truck bed liner would cost me about $300 + shipping for a color and I'm sure would do the job well. I'm using liquid roll on EPDM. I'm sure it won't be as tough or as heavy as truck bed liner but should make for a good roof. My roof already has 3 coats of CPES on it.

Oh, I am so excited about seeing your trailer at Manatee Springs. Please say that it will be done in time. :worship:

 I'm excited that you're excited. It was kind of you to say so.

Lots to do, but some have built complete trailers in less time.

Did you like the little hearts in the roof trim at the back of the trailer? Since it's debut is on Valentine's Day thought it was appropriate. Kim told me yesterday she doesn't like the color. I thought it was funny because I don't like it much either. It just kinda happened, I couldn't decide what colors I wanted to use, Kim was too busy to think about it, and I had the red, off white and the blue left from other things....... well, it does look patriotic

The back of the trailer is the only part that is close to being finished. One side has the trim on it and a little paint. I haven't started the trim and paint on the other side or the front. I ordered a 15 X 18 double awning window for the door, but still haven't decided how I'm gonna build it. The insides are done, except for some quarter round trim for the floor in the well. Fedex still can't find my cushions, they got lost someplace between Georgia and Jacksonville, FL about 10 days ago. Hope new ones get made and actually get here. In the mean time, I'm in San Diego for another day, then home where I've managed to get behind with work, not trailer work. :?
Maybe I'll bring paint brushes and paint and we can have a painting party in the campground.

Yes, I LOVE the hearts on the back. I also like the red but to be honest, I don't really care for the blue and white. :) Since your build was inspired by the original vardos, I assumed that you would be painting it with traditional colors and all of those wonderful gold scrolls. Many of the red ones are trimmed with a dark mustard yellow.....just a thought.

After seeing your build, I have become totally fascinated with vardos. I said I would never build another trailer but now I want to build my own gyspy caravan just so I can have fun painting it.

Thanks Michele for your thoughts on paint. I do agree. I have to remember it doesn't have to be finished, just towable and campable.

Yes, but there is danger in that! I've been camping in mine, and once I started that, it's been more difficult getting back on the details! (I'm back on it, but I'd rather be camping!).
God Bless

Thanks for the warning Cliff, I know what you mean. Good thing I still have a "back up" teardrop to camp in too.

I was just checking out the Manatee Springs camping thread and I see I still have 11 days to get the gypsy caravan finished...... At least the "to do" list is getting a little shorter. It seems every day I am working on the trailer, more and more people just show up to see what's going on. That's always fun. I'll roll her out and take some pictures tomorrow.

Had a couple of really long days working. (Not on the trailer) I'm gettin' too old for that stuff. The other day when I was going to take some pictures, it rained about 24 hours non stop. Now we are having the coldest night in about 6 or 7 years.... but I have been working on the trailer and will be finished in time for Manatee Springs. Maybe

Oh yeah..... thanks for checking on me.
