Thanks guys.

We ultimately cancelled the weekend as we had so much packing to do for the impending house move.

Unfortunately, due to a major cock up by my buyers solicitors, our planned date to move on the 29th has now possibly become the 10th August, after a years planning, it all fell flat with a week to go.

Anyways, back to good stuff.

I picked this little 24Volt kids scooter up at the council/municipal tip last week. Then jury rigged the 2 x 12Volt batteries overnight on a regular charger.
It all works.

Nicola has claimed it for herself as a Campground runnabout.....and already taken the kiddies stickers off, and added a bunch of skulls and flames to it. As well as a massive black rat that will be fitted to the front mudguard later.

These things cost around £280.00 new in the UK, and even used ones top £160 on Ebay , so she is very pleased with herself.

Today I had to try it after we came back from a ride out on the big bike.

ATGATT !!!! (All the Gear all the time)

Well, it will be a short report, as we only did 3 nights out, and about 400 miles.

We go to the Retro Rides gathering every year, and when we decided to get married, Nicola suggested we go to the RRG '10 and then off to Bath in Somerset for a few days with the Teardrop, which had not been built at the time. (It would have been in the Transit, which ultimately did not make it this year)

We also brought my Brother over to join us at the wedding as a witness, and to spend some time here in the UK.

He slept in the back of the VW in a single bed mattress..... perfect !!

The trailer proved itself to be watertight, as well as perfect for our camping trip.

It also drew loads of attention and I was asked a few times where I had bought it, with some people not wanting to believe it was home built. PERFECT !!

Married, and most of the photos taken.

Our spot at The Gathering. BBQ up and going, with Lewis checking out Nicola's Pink scooter, perfect for campground duties.
The powered bike is one he built for the Gathering. He and others were hooning about the whole weekend on it.

Newlyweds, Mr. & Mrs. Grizz

Postby down under tech » Thu Aug 12, 2010 4:11 pm

Congrats to two great people. I wish you many years of happiness together. Grizz, make sure you behave yourself and don't make Nicola mad at you. You might be living in your teardrop, LOL. Take care and enjoy all of the things Terry & I sent to you guys. I hope Nicola likes the kitchen items included in the package. Is that the mail box you were wanting to get?

Have fun with your ("Professionally Built") Teardrop Trailer.

Hi Johnny, I did not want to embarrass you by posting the thank you on here for all the goodies you and Terry sent.

All I had asked was how much they cost, but we LOVE the US Postbox, and once bolted onto a steel post, and concreted into the front lawn, to make sure it stays put, we will enjoy it for many years.

When I got to Nicola's place this afternoon, she was sitting on the sofa with a cuppa tea, wearing her Oven Gloves.

The stickers will find their way onto, or into the trailer, or maybe even our 11 liter water keg, which has become a bit of a magnet for stickers.

The playing cards will deffo get put into the trailer too.

The other goodies will find various places in the home, including the grizzly bear.

You must have worked weeks at overtime to get the postage alone paid for the parcel.

We do have a couple of the flags you want, as I bought 2 this year for the trailer ( I forgot that I had one, and then bought another) so one is yours for sure, we still need to find the other bits, including the Griffon.

I hope Terry likes the frog we sent her, when it gets there too.

WRT sleeping in the TD, it is so nice that we may both camp in the back yard once we get to the new house.

Forgot to mention, she completely surprised me by arriving in this truck......

Redneck bride indeed.

Her Bouquet was Proteas as well, another surprise, the South African national flower.

Cost of Gifts, Unknown ???

Postby down under tech » Thu Aug 12, 2010 9:50 pm

Grizz & Nicola: I'm now glad that we sent the oven mitts for Nicola. I am glad she was not burnt while serving up the tea. lol

It is not the cost of things we give to friends, it is the thought that went into it. This makes them priceless & the friendship that much more...

I forgot to tell you that the frog arrived yesterday and I snapped a couple of shots of it and sent the pics to Terry and she loves it. She will get it when she comes up this weekend. Thanks much, Mr. and Mrs. Grizz!

Thanks for the flags, too. Good luck you two or should I say 1+1 = ONE :)
