Three weeks later...

Steve, although I've seen a pic or two of your whimsical, outstanding Gypsy Wagon, I just started reading this thread.
I'm just on Page 3... and thoroughly enjoying myself. Thank you!

And earlier today I was compelled to add a comment of yours to my post signature... Your Gypsy Wagon along with the link to that U.K. gypsy caravans history site now has my head spinning! on top of all the pondering I had already been doing. My tear will remain distinctly a tear, however, although it's fun to imagine a few of those Brush wagon, Reading, Ledge, Bowtop, Openlot and/or Burton details tossed in.

:pipe:

Oh, what fun this is!

I wanted more holes in the counter top

Did you rout that out freehand, without a jig? I see one fence, but, still...

Thanks to Lynn Coleman. She put together a You Tube slide show of the Little Gypsy Build. She uses a Mac, looked like fun!

Thanks Mrs. B. Can't wait to see the photos of camper Mr. B built. 8) Maybe you two will be able to make it to a Florida gathering in the future.

Steve, I love the gypsy camper. How much does it weigh? I noticed you said it could be pulled with a 4 cylinder...

Just for the record, I voted for your camper..

Thank you. That sounds like fun. I hope we can do that someday.

Mr. B modestly says that he constructed a basic camper, but I can tell you that a lot of heart went into it. I'm proud of him. :)

Take care and have fun with your gypsy.

Thanks Steve,

The trailer weighs 1425# but with all the storage capacity it can on occasion weigh much more. Kim has a tendency to try and fill the spaces until they are full.

Hi Steve.

Had to join the list so that I could add to your collection of compliments. :applause:

Truly impressive and inspiring.

In addition to camping, I'd like to explore the possibility of adapting a similar structure to use as a mobile puppet theater. Hoping to inspire and teach some life skills to my autistic youngster and air the dog at the same time. ;)

Really appreciate the excellent documentation of your progress on the Little Gypsy.

Thanks Perche,

Welcome to the forum, lot of friendly folks here. I like the puppet theater idea, sounds like fun (if your inclined) Know about the teaching life skills to an autistic child, I have a stepson that is autistic, among other things. Still trying to help him figure it all out, he is 40 this year. We have lots of kind and like minded folks that come to the little trailer gatherings, it's a wonderful way to get out in nature and commune with friends. Hope you add your thoughts to many of the other parts of the forum.
