skin

Postby Danny » Mon Aug 29, 2011 1:18 pm

Final section of skin went on this morning so, It will get trimmed flush with the router when dry. Think I have most everything I need now as far as hardware goes..vents,locks etc. Finish paint prep(filling holes) is next up...Danny

weight

Postby Danny » Tue Aug 30, 2011 8:27 am

8) I am pretty sure I made my weight limit,(trailer that is)..Under 300, but, not sure if it is under 250.. Next time I might have to try that hollow core door trick Roly used on the stacker  Just joking, I still think the floor should be 1/2 " ply or osb..Picked up a gallon of oil based primer(zinser bullseye brand) for 5 bucks on clearance

Danny,

Your teardrop looks super! :applause:  :applause:

You've done a fine job in building it. What color are planning to paint it?

Take care,
Tom

So, I walk into the hardware store and ask for wood filler for a project, and the clerk stares at me, the paint and glue are in Aisle 4, I said I don't want paint I want something to fill screw holes..Anyway, when they ask if you need any help, you are better off just wandering around until you find it... :?

where do all the screw holes come from  :duh: :scratchthinking: ...Remember when the whatch a ma call it would not stay down so, an extra 1-1/4 screw was just the ticket.. that is where they come from.. Think i found them all and they are filled and sanded primed Blah blah blah....finish coat going on very soon.. this build took longer than expected, waiting for the HF trailer to become available was a set back..I am already thinking of the next one..DUH!!! a full rounded nose micro, either another 78(very roomy) or a 75.. I measured, and the 78 is about 7'-2" on the diagonal..plenty of room for 2 cozy campers... 8)
