Still need to do the interior walls before I install the windows. I have a bunch of 1/8 ply, but still looking for something a bit lighter.

Doors should be complete in the next week or two - just waiting for my trim to arrive.

There is a vent installed, doors will also have vented windows.

Wires are run but still need to connect them to something.

Then the joy of going to the DMV to get it licensed.

Even with this list, 'I think I can' get 'er done for at least one test trip by the end of the year (it doesn't rain/snow in CA anymore so winter camping shouldn't be an issue). :worship:

Yea...Yea...Yea... been hearing that for 3 years now - they're already talking So Cal only.

CA is reverting back to a desert - wife and I are working on getting out as soon as the oldest is off to college in 2 years.

Falling off would be a good thing - the coast would only be 20 - 30 minutes away, instead of 1.5 - 2 hours

Spent my Labor Day weekend putting labor into the trailer

Image

Was able to get my doors skinned with painters cloth. They came out smoother than the #12 duck I used for the cabin, but I think the duck will be stronger and last longer.

In the upper left, you can also see my first portal window installed.

Image

A quick preview of what the doors will look like with vented windows and handles installed. Trim is on the way.

Image

Finished framing and painting the lower section of the galley.

Image

Added a swing out door that will hold a shelf for the camp stove.

Good to hear from you again! Your teardrop is looking fantastic. I love the color.

BTW - I am quite familiar with the give or take 3-year build time period. Don't sweat that. You won't remember the build when you're camping.

Will the doors be white? I like the contrast.

Yes, the doors will be white. The sides are just too big to be one solid color.

Well.. no rush to finish this project now. Tow vehicle got totaled today, and not to sure how/if it's going to get replaced. :NC

9 months and it would have been paid off. :x

Sigh!!!!! :(

That's unfortunate, but it sounds like no one was hurt (I hope), and even though it seems confusing and uncertain at the moment, these things have a way of working out. You will get thru it, one step in front of the other.
