I admire those of you who kept track of exactly how much you spent on your builds. Though I initially promised the wife $500 or less, and I was writing all the expenses down, when I went over $500 on just stainless nuts, bolts, washers ($ hundreds $), powder-coated hinges and hardware ($5-8 each, x 20 + spares),new hubs, fenders, coupler, hangers, spacers, adapters, wheels, tires, and (hundreds more on) structural steel; I threw the list away. The wood, poly, paint, hadn't even been purchased at that time, and many parts were never used as the build had its own momentum going ( I have a 48x29 crank out window that I'll never use!). And the big ticket items, special tools, an A/C unit (and my never-ending adaptations of /to it), and windows, bedding etc.... And then there are the one of a kind touches that I always had in mind, that I was GOING TO MAKE WORK (damn the torpedoes!). Just like building my drag racing car, I conveniently forgot to add it all up. Sorta like burying my head in the sand, as long as I could finish it.Colemancooler wrote:
so far the total spent on the trailer is approximately $2,470.79 more than I expected, i still need to order $41 in trim pieces, and spend approx $100 to get it inspected and licensed
